Jeff Blair says it's a done deal with the Jays and Zaun. Two years, $7.25 million, with an option for a third year based on games played. (thanks to China fan for the heads up)
JP Ricciardi confirmed the Zaun signing today.
Zaun returns to the Jays after the agreement the team thought they had with Rod Barajas fell apart. The Star reports that Barajas refused to take a physical, not because he was worried he would pass, but "sources in Texas said that while Barajas was pleased to be joining the
Jays as their No. 1 catcher, the money made him balk at the physical,
and thereby nullify the deal."
