Baseball America has published several Jays related articles recently.

The draft report cards are out for subscribers only.  As expected Brett Cecil had the best pro debut; Eric Eiland was named the best athlete; and Kevin Ahrens as best hitter.  Justin Jackson is the best defender and Alan Farina has the best fastball.  BA suggests that Farina could be a starter next season, whether that is for development reasons or whether the Jays think he could be a major league starter is unknown.

BA's AFL notebook for October 23rd has some glowing praise for Travis Snider.  “This is as polished a high school hitter as it gets and what he’s doing in this league is equally impressive as what he did during the regular season,” a veteran scout from a National League club said. “He controls the strike zone, he has the ability to drive balls on the inner half and will show you that power on pitches away from him."

Snider has also been named to play in the All-Star game.  Snider has been hitting well although he is up against more advanced competition.  A strong AFL could tempt the Jays to jump Snider up to AA to start next season.

The AFL notebook for October 24th reviews Ryan Patterson's season and his expectations for the AFL.

Keith Law from ESPN saw David Purcey pitch in Arizona and commented that he still flashed plus stuff with inconsistent command.
