Beyond the First Round - College Hitters

The draft doesn't end after round 1!
The Jays don't select until #59 after their first pick at #17. After that they pick at #91, #129 and every thirty picks thereafter.
Here's a group of college hitters that the Jays could be on in rounds 2-5.
Ryan Flaherty, 3B, Vanderbilt:

Flaherty is currently the SS for Vandy, but is expected to move to 3B in the pros given a lack of range and size (6'3", 210lbs). He doesn't offer much in terms of power, but could post good averages from the left side.

It's hard to look at a line that's essentially .400/.500/.600 and not be impressed. The knock on Peterson is that he has a bad swing, and not a lot of power.

Dominguez is described as inconsistent. But you can see with the SLG that he has power and his Ks have come down considerably this year. He might be a nice upside pick. Dominguez is a draft eligible sophomore so he has a little bit of leverage.

Forsythe was a member of Team USA last summer and played well which is always a good sign (Team USA generally has the elite college players on the team).

Tekotte is the CF and leadoff man for the Hurricanes. As you can see he's improved in each of his years at Miami and was also a Cape League All Star last summer. He also has good speed as he's stolen 50 bases in college and 22 on the Cape last summer.

A left handed hitting shortstop with a pretty nice hitting line the last two years. Big Ten baseball isn't the best competition, but he's worth a look after the first couple rounds.

Jonathan Mayo has a new 1st round mock draft up that's generally pretty in tune with what's going on. He has the Jays getting Brett Wallace, and if he's gone speculates they'd go with Brett Lawrie.
