Barron Outhits Chiefs 4 to 1

Revenge was sweet for the Fisher Cats after an extra-innings loss last night, Travis Snider and JP Arencibia had three hits each.  The most hits by a junior Jay was four by Raul Barron helping Lansing to the win.  On the other hand Syracuse were held to one hit by Chase Wright and two relievers.

Scranton 6  Syracuse 0

One hit was all the Chiefs could get off Chase Wright and two relievers.  The one hit was by Brian Jeroloman.  Bill Murphy had another tough start, he gave up four runs in 3.1 innings on six hits and five walks.


Portland 2  New Hampshire 9

New Hampshire scored two runs in the fist inning, Travis Snider and JP Arencibia doubled, scoring one run, and David Smith singled in the second run.  The Fisher Cats blew it open with six runs in the fourth.  Smith led off with a double; Andrew Pinckney singled; and Jacob Butler walked to load the bases.  A run then scored on catchers interference; Chris Gutierrez singled in the second run of the inning; Snider singled in another; Arencibia singled in a run; and finally Kyle Phillips singled in two.  Snider homered in the sixth for the ninth run.

Robert Ray was on the hill for the Cats and gave up an unearned run in seven innings.  Seth Overbey relieved Ray and gave up a run in two innings.  Snider and Arencibia were 3-4, Smith had two hits.


Dunedin - scheduled day off

 

Lansing 4  Wisconsin 2

Chi-Hung Cheng pitched well, five innings, two earned runs.  Joe Wice and Tim Collins each pitched two shutout innings in relief.  Down 2-0, Lansing tied the game in the third.  Moises Sierra singled, Justin Jackson walked, both runners moved up on a wild pitch, and Raul Barron singled to drive in both runners.  Lansing took the lead in the sixth, David Cooper led off with a single, moved up on a ground out, and scored on a single by Johermyn Chavez.  In the seventh Jackson doubled and scored on another single by Barron.  Barron was 4-5 with 3 RBI's.  Cooper was 2-4. 


Auburn 5  Jamestown 3

Auburn scored five single runs in five innings.  Three came via the long ball, Mike McDade in the fourth; Adam Amar in the sixth; and Robert Sobolewski in the ninth.  In the first McDade singled in Chris Demons who had been hit by a pitch and in the third Demons hit a sac fly to score Bryan Kervin who had doubled.

Josh Wells started and pitched three innings, he gave up two runs on six hits.

McDade had three hits, Amar and Joel Collins had two hits each.


GCL Jays 0  GCL Tigers 1 - game suspended in fourth inning

Jeremy Accardo started this game and pitched one inning.  He was relieved by Scott Gracey who gave up one run in two innings.  To be continued.....
