As the Jays kick-off a short trip to Seattle, which will be their only trip to the Pacific Northwest this year, and hope for a mini-sweep, the farm teams completed a mini-sweep of their own, as an off-day and a postponement meant that there were only two games in the system last night and Toronto’s affiliates won both.

Bradenton 1 @ Dunedin 2 – Boxscore
The teams traded runs in the fourth inning and it remained tied at one until the bottom of the ninth, when it ended with a walk-off win. Michael McDade doubled after John Tolisano was retired and Adeiny Hechavarria came in to run. Dan Perales was walked intentionally and then Jon Talley ended the game with a single to left that scored Hechavarria. McDade was also involved in Dunedin’s first run, as he singled home Brian van Kirk during a two-out rally in the fourth. Dunedin only had seven hits in the game, six of which were split evenly between McDade, Tolisano and Talley. Tyler Pastornicky drew a pair of walks, but was caught stealing and committed an error.
Dunedin’s victory made a winner of Frank Gailey, who was the second reliever out of the pen in relief of Joel Carreno. Carreno went 6 innings and gave up four hits and a run on two walks and nine strikeouts. Of the nine batters retired on balls in play, Carreno forced seven of them to ground out. Dumas Garcia allowed a walk in an inning of relief, while Gailey allowed one hit over 2 scoreless innings for the victory.
Lansing 9 @ Dayton 3 – Boxscore
Lansing scored the first seven runs and although Dayton pulled within four, they would get no closer and a couple of additional runs gave the Lugnuts a 9-3 victory. Chad Jenkins was spotted a first inning home run by Ryan Schimpf and that was enough through his first five innings. He gave up three in the sixth, but pitched the seventh and finished with seven strikeouts on six hits and a walk. Dustin Antolin and Aaron Loup each pitched an inning to secure the victory.
Every Lugnut had a hit and none had more than two. The Lugnuts pieced together their runs, as they only had two extra-base hits aside from Schimpf’s homer. Brad McElroy and Balbino Fuenmayor each had two hits, which included a double. McElroy had 2 RBI and a run, while Fuenmayor scored twice and added an RBI. Ryan Goins and Eric Eiland each also had two hits. Mark Sobolewski, AJ Jimenez and Sean Ochinko each had a hit and a run.
