When I was in Lansing I took some shots of Garis Pena showing how to play shortstop. I added in a shot of Scott Gracey to congratulate him on his promotion. Finally I link to videos of Drew Hutchison; Sean Nolin; Egan Smith; and Misaul Diaz with two of the plate appearances ending in fly balls to Jake Marisnick in centre-field.
Garis Pena is a very smooth looking shortstop who is currently on the DL. These shots were taken during batting practice.
While most of these are self-evident, note that Pena has lowered his butt, that is the key for infielders, don't bend at the waist, get your butt down to better keep your balance. And note in the next picture that Pena is fielding the ball while already his feet are set to throw to first base.
Scott Gracey had great numbers for Lansing this season. While I was down there Gracey came into a game with the bases loaded and nobody out, and he got out of it and Lansing went on to win the game. Gracey had a 1.71 ERA for Lansing and had given up 11 hits in 21 innings.
