Baseball is baseball and I'm never going to dislike it or abandon it - but as the game shifts towards the Three True Outcomes I'm getting less and less entertainment out of it. And somehow, modern strategy has find a way to weaponize mediocrity, as pitchers who wouldn't have been good enough to make a roster a generation ago march endlessly out of the bullpen to throw fifteen pitches as hard as they can.

Grumble, grumble, grumble went the cranky old man. But can't somebody put a ball in play once in a while? Now that we're finally making some progress in understanding defense...
