Brock, Kirk & Kyle Make It All Worthwhile

The #BlueJays affiliates posted a winning Monday by taking three out of five. Buffalo, New Hampshire and Vancouver had the night off.

Daytona 7 Dunedin 3

Connor Eller coughed up four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out four over four innings. Jonathan Cheshire tossed two innings of one-hit ball with two whiffs. Angel Perdomo was punished for three runs in 1-2/3 innings. William Ouellette gave up a run-scoring hit before getting the final out of the eighth.

Brock Lundquist went 4-for-4 for Dunedin's only multi-hit effort. Josh Palacios and Rodrigo Orozco doubled. Chad Spanberger singled and walked in his Dunedin debut. Riley Adams and Kevin Smith both singled but Kacy Clemens and Logan Warmoth were 0-for-4.


Lansing 5 Fort Wayne 4 (7 Innings - Rain)

The Lugnuts scored all their runs in the last two innings to pull this one out. Samad Taylor and Reggie Pruitt had RBI singles while the other runs were scored on a wild pitch and two passed balls. Jesus Navarro had the only two-hit night for Lansing. Chavez Young added a double and Vinny Capra had a base knock.

Kyle Weatherly allowed two runs over five innings on six hits and a walk. He rung up eight batters and got three outs on the ground. Dany Jimenez gave up two runs in the sixth to blow the save but picked up the win. Orlando Pascual struck out one in a perfect seventh for the save.


Bluefield 10 Greeneville 5

The Bluef-Jays bounced back from 3-1 and 5-3 deficits to win this one. Alejandro Kirk had two RBI singles and scored on a Gabriel Moreno two-run home run in the fifth. Moreno also had a walk. Kirk and Cal Stevenson had three hits apiece and Jose Theran had two along with a stolen base. Rafael Lantigua singled, walked and swiped a bag. D.J. Neal had a walk and a stolen base. D.J. Daniels singled, walked and was hit by a pitch.

Adams Cuevas was roughed up for five runs (four earned) on five hits and a walk over four-plus innings but he did strike out six. Alvardo Galindo allowed a Cuevas runner to cross home plate but pitched 2-2/3 shutout frames despite five hits to get the win. Mike Pascoe pitched 1-1/3 shutout innings of two-hit ball with a strikeouts. Cre Finfrock struck out two in a perfect ninth.


GCL Blue Jays 6 GCL Tigers West 2

Leonardo Jimenez doubled twice and Jose Abel Hernandez and Steward Berroa also had two-hit efforts to pace the G-Jays.

Emanuel Vizcaino yielded a run on three hits and walk but struck out eight over four innings. Anderson Nunez collected the win with 2-1/3 shutout frames of one-hit ball that included a strikeout. Gage Burland struck out two and gave up a run in 1-1/3 innings before Meliton Reyes struck out three over 1-1/3 innings of one-hit ball for the save.


DSL White Sox 4 DSL Blue Jays 2

The game was scoreless until the Pale Hole scored three in the sixth to withstand a late rally from the Dom-Jays. Jhon Solarte and Miguel Hiraldo both had two hits in four at-bats with Solarte knocking home a run. Rainier Nunez drove in the other and went 1-for-4.

Alexis Carmona alllowed three runs, all unearned, over 5-2/3 innings and was tagged with the loss. Juan Acosta stranded two runners and gave up a run over 3-1/3 innings but struck out three.
