The results of the May prospect poll have been tabulated. To keep up with the escalating interest in the Blue Jays farm system, I asked readers to submit a ballot of the top 20 prospects: 21 ballots were posted. The top two positions are unchanged from the last poll, but there's been an overhaul in the rest of the top 10. Three pitchers were in contention for the mantle of top pitching prospect left open after Dustin McGowan's TJ surgery. 25 points were awarded for each first place vote, 22 for second, 20 for third, 18 for fourth, 16 for fifth and decreasing by 1 for every place thereafter.

Josh Banks's strong performance in Dunedin has enabled him to threaten the more experienced David Bush for the top pitcher's spot. The mere fact that Francisco Rosario is pitching was enough to put him in the mix.

Honourable Mention: Miguel Negron 42 points, Tyrell Godwin 34, John-Ford Griffin 32, Jayce Tingler 23, Gustavo Chacin 19, Vince Perkins 17, Christian Snavely 15, Rodney Medina 12, Jorge Sequea and D.J. Post-J.P. players now outnumber the pre-J.P. players on the top 20 list. By the time we do another poll (in September), there will very likely be a new #1. That's because Alex Rios will almsot certainly exceed the rookie PA limit by then.

Thanks for tabulating the results, Robert. There were no real surprises.

Guillermo Quiroz better get his tools of ignorance ready. He might be the last catcher left standing, and have a job by July (ready or not).
