Here is your abbreviated weekend MLU. Two wins and one loss on Friday.

Brad Allen no-hit Clearwater through 5 innings. Alberto Tirado pitched two innings in relief. Chris King from Baseball Prospectus had this to say about Tirado "Tirado was pretty sharp for his 2 innings. Easy velo and worked in a sharp power SL well. Best I've seen him in a while. FB 94-96 T97 and tons of life. SL 84-86 with sharp bite."

Love the daily MiLB update. Good to see Boyd and D Jong get off to good starts. On the surface, Boyd appeared to struggle in Double A last year but the numbers appeared to show that he may have been the victim of some bad luck. Let's hope he has another special year; we could use another option at Triple A if/when the inevitable injuries start to hit.

The weather looks to be a fair bit better in the Northeast at least for the next couple of days. Maybe the hitters will start to hit :)

So far I like the results of our minor league SPs. Albers struggled. But I do not know what the Jays are doing this year with their minor league teams.
There has been no news as to who looked good in minor league ST. Quite a few player placements surprised me.

Unlike the major leagues the minor leaguers have just two weeks of playing exhibition games. As the title above says the pitchers could be ahead of the hitters.

So glad to have the MLU crew back in action. Your posts are greatly anticipated, and your efforts greatly appreciated.

Love the pitching line on Boyd. I see him and Cole as possible SP fill-ins in the second half when injuries hit. It would be nice to see him dominate like that for the next few months!
