Three games on the docket. Lansing won, but both Buffalo and Dunedin lost. John Stilson made his season debut, while Miguel Castro got roughed up in Buffalo.

Buffalo 2 DURHAM 4

Dalton Pompey had a hit, a walk, drove in a run, and stole two bases as the Bisons mustered just five hits on the night. Miguel Castro struggled. He allowed five hits, two earned runs, and a walk in his inning of work. That’s bout it for notables. Oh, J.P. Arencibia struck out three times, naturally. The Bisons were swept by the Rays’ affiliate. They scored just two runs over the course of the three game series.

LAKELAND 6 Dunedin 1

Jairo Labourt pitched two innings in his return from injury. Lots of walks, as per usual. John Stilson made his debut. While he allowed two earned on three hits, he did strike out four in his inning and a third. Awfully nice for him to have some success this year. Matt Dean and Mitch Nay both doubled for Dunedin’s only two extra base hits.

LANSING 8 Fort Wayne 5

The Lugnuts stole seven bases. Anthony Alford had three to go along with two walks at the top of the order. Rowdy Tellez had two hits, as did J.D. Davis. D.J. Davis hit his fourth triple of the season, and both Richard Urena and Danny Jansen went deep. Good night for Lansing hitters. On the mound, Shane Dawson got hit around a wee bit. Five earned over five innings including two long balls. Dawson though did pick off two runners. Next Jimmy Key I tell ya!

Three Stars

3. Dalton Pompey

2. Anthony Alford

1. J.D. Davis

Shane Dawson sure is doing well. So is Tim Locastro. Locastro is hitting for average, getting BBs and is stealing a lot of bases. But he is probably too old for Lansing.

Check out Syndergaard's swing on the long-ball yesterday.

Anthony Alford and D. J. Davis. are born 5 days apart.  They are both fighting for the CF spot, but Davis gets to play LF as well.  Dickie Thon is starting to hit but, he's old for Lansing and they don't know where to play him anymore. 4 games at 2B, 5 at SS (5 errors) and 5 in LF (1 error).

Had to check, Syndergaard is hitting 270/357/405 lifetime in the minors (47 PA), 455/455/909 this year with a HR and 2 doubles.  Yeah, Vegas inflated but still...wow.  That goes along with his 1.82 ERA in 5 starts  Wonder if the Mets would consider re-trading him back here?  I'd give them Dickey for Syn straight up at this point (who wouldn't) . The Mets weakness at the moment is 2B (how familiar).

Regarding Dawson, I asked Lugs announcer @jgoldstrass for an in game scouting report on Dawson while listening to the Lugs game yesterday. He said his fastball is actually 85 to I believe the high 80's he said, so I can't imagine his stuff and results carrying over to AA.

John the better question is whether you'd send them Travis for Synd?

If the superbly defensive Jonathan Diaz can be an example of a hitter with weak hitting staying at AAA, why not playing him between AA and A? Only two OFers are on the official roster given on MiLB's New Hamsphire website.

Ideas for trade:

Dickey, Thole, Tolleson (or Kawasaki, but Tolleson versatile position capability could be more appealing). for Syndergaard, OF Alex Castellanos and one of Mets' backup catcher ? Then Mets' Kevin Plawecki the catcher can be sent back to AA. Castellanos is the batting leader of AAA at this time of the season so the Jays may catch a lightning in a bottle. However, Castellanos had injured in spring training.

Why would the Mets trade a major arm for a 40 year old hot and cold knuckleball pitcher? Why would anyone trade a controllable big arm for an old guy who is sometimes pretty good and often not?

@ogator: the originality of this idea goes to @John Northey:
Why would the Mets trade trade a major arm for a 40 year old hot and cold knuckleball pitcher? Why would anyone trade a controllable big arm for an old guy who is sometimes pretty good and often not?
So please directly your question to him(?) ?

Assuming the plausibility of that trade idea, my player contents were actually better than that from John Northey ? However, as ogator takes the original idea close to fictitious, there is no point of continuing its discussion.

Sounds like the fantasy baseball trades that I try to make and the other owner declines in 2 seconds. No chance either of those come close to happening.

To get Noah I'm sure the package would have to include a JB or a EE, assuming the Mets are in win now mode.

Anyway, RHB OF Alex Castellanos of Mets' AAA have been performing red hot: his batting OPS is the top of both the IL and PCL. Could Jays get him ? Assuming the Mets need a 2B.... but for example, the Cardinals bought a number of 2Bmen to minor league contract....
