Ryan McBroom hit a walk off sacrifice fly to move Lansing to the Eastern Division finals.

Great Lakes 4 LANSING 5

Lansing fell behind in the top half of the ninth only to quite sensationally tie and subsequently walk off on a Ryan McBroom sacrifice fly in the bottom half of the inning. With that Lansing swept Great Lakes and will now play West Michigan in the Eastern Division finals.

Despite committing the throwing error that led to the go ahead run to score in the ninth, D.J. Davis had a three hits and an RBI. Justin Atkinson and Jason Leblebijian had two hits. Chris Carlson, Richard Urena, Ryan McBroom, and Gunnar Heidt all doubled. Urena had two walks and an error as well. Justin Shafer pitched six innings of two run baseball.

Some pretty poor records on the farm this year -Lansing was certainly the marquee team to follow aside from the GCL Jays, who were propped up by an older college OF and the gaudy numbers of 23 year old closer Griffen Glaude (sorry).

Loads of prospects spent time in Lansing this season, but I'm wondering about yesterday's starter Justin Shafer, recently named to the AFL.  nothing about the guy stands out - anyone know why he was chosen?  I'm assuming AFL guys have at least some prospect upside.
