Lansing won to keep their playoffs hope alive, they are 1.5 games back but there is hope. Dunedin lead by two games and are being helped by lots of rain in Florida, they were rained out today and could be rained out tomorrow too. Bluefield lost and are eliminated from the post-season. The GCL Jays had their final game of the season rained out. Buffalo keep losing, New Hampshire keep winning and Vancouver turned things around with a nice win.

Scranton 14 Buffalo 2

Buffalo are limping to the end of the season. Scott Diamond gave up eight runs in two innings and Chad Girodo followed by conceding two. The Bisons were down 10-0 in the fifth. Seven pitchers in total were needed to get through the game.

Matt Dominguez had three hits and drove in both runs. Dalton Pompey had two hits.

The Fisher Cats did most of their damage in a six run fifth inning. Three hits, three walks a hit batter and an error generated the six runs. Christian Lopes started with an RBI single, Richard Urena also had an RBI single and Jon Berti had a two RBI double. The other runs came via a bases loaded walk and a sac fly. Rowdy Tellez hit his 21st home run to score the first run in the second inning. New Hampshire had six hits, all from the top four in the order. Lopes and Tellez had two each.

Newish Jay John Straka went six innings and gave up two runs. John Stilson pitched two good innings and Wil Browning one.

Tampa at Dunedin - rained out

This was supposed to be a doubleheader but a tropical storm cancelled both games and tomorrows game is in doubt too.

Five straight singles led to the two runs in the second. Ryan Hissey and Ryan Metzler got it started. Cavan Biggio and Guillotte added rbi singles. Palacios also singled but Biggio was out at the plate. Palacios led the offense with three hits.

Angel Perdomo pitched well for 5.2 innings. Six hits, no walks and seven K's. He left the game in the sixth for what was described as precautionary reasons. Gino Encina followed with 2.1 innings of two hit relief. Andrew Case picked up his ninth save.

Some players may be on the way to Vancouver with the GCL season now over. Reliever Jared Carkuff is apparently one of them according to this tweet.

I find it interesting that Josh Palacios and JB Woodman are putting up really good overall lines, but in completely different manners. Woodman has an extreme K% while Palacios is showing great contact ability...my bet is on Palacios being th better hitter heading forward despite the lack of power.

The C's are also getting 1B David Jacob and C Owen Spiwak from the GCL Blue Jays according to this story on CanadiansBaseball.com.

Free-agent signee lefty Taylor Durand from West Carolina has also joined the C's. Here's some video of him with the Catamounts. He signed with the Jays in mid-August. His name is too closely associated with Duran Duran and Andy/John/Roger Taylor. ;D

We all enjoy the Jays in different ways.

Harold Ramirez is on the 40 man roster. I think Pittsburgh put him on Nov 20, 2015. That seems too early for me. But if correct, he has burned 1 option. So he and Pompey both have to get to the Majors soon.

Can someone that also looks closely at these type of transactions verify my conclusions.

CanadiansBaseball.com has a story on Matt Dermody, a member of the 2013 Northwest League championship squad who was called up to the Blue Jays yesterday. Note the excellent photo that accompanies the story! ;D

Tellez had another big night with a homer, a double and a walk in four plate trips.  After a slow start, he's done pretty much what you would hope for from a 21 year old slugging first baseman in the Eastern League.  He's hit about as well as Rhys Hoskins, who is the other slugging first baseman in the league, but Hoskins is two years older.
