When I did a quick count of how many of my photographs were of each player, I had to ask myself if I had some kind of man-crush on Eric Hinske, who showed up in about 10% of them. The next closest player was David Wells, and I shot so much of him because he was looking so hangdog and sad-eyed that I just couldn't help myself -- it was like watching a traffic accident, really. But I have no similar explanation for why I shot so much of Eric Hinske, and I also can't explain why so many of them are good.

So, today's photo of the day is of (surprise) Eric Hinske, in the field at first base:

So given recent history, let me be the first to predict a box score line of 5-4-5-6 for Hinske today. Erm, as the Yankees win a high-scoring affair, of course.

Does anyone know if Joe Bernhardt is playing ball anywhere these days?

NFH - these pics are great! Can you perhaps post a summary of your camera equipment, film type (if you're using film), the settings you used, and whether or not you're doing anything post.

I got a Nikon N75 for Christmas and have no clue how to use it.

Mostly I shoot film, but for the images from April 9th I borrowed a Pentax istD and a Sigma 300mm f4.0. This post from the Koskie picture of the day last week has more details about exposure and so on.

All in all, I liked that I could shoot so much without spending much money, but the final result was not as good as what I'm used to. But then again, it looks pretty good on the internet, which is the most important part.

In terms of post production, I did some sharpening (which I think is also discussed somewhere in the Koskie thread and a lot of colour correction, because the lights at Rogers Centre totally fooled the camera's auto white balance. Anyways, I know for next time not to trust it.
