So it's a little late, but here's a desktop-sized image of the newly refurbished Rogers Centre, as seen from behind home plate, as the team streams off the field after their victory over Kansas City on Tuesday night:

Is it just me or does it look like OBP and WHIP are watching over the team like that evil eye thing in Lord of the Rings?

Heh, it's the animated graphic that introduces the final stats for the game. But it's a little menacing, yeah.

Weird how everyone's cheering the victory except that one guy who's turned around looking at the camera. It's like he has his own televisison show and he's just stepped into 3rd person mode to narrate something to the viewing audience.

Aaron mentioned to me how the colour of the new turf shows up poorly in photos. Now I can believe it - the shade you see here is not only hideous, but also completely inaccurate.

Just thought I'd throw this out there as the photo thread seems to always be a haven for off-topic posts.

Aaron Hill autographed throwback Montreal Royals jersey worn April 15th. (E-bay) The Montreal franchise was sold and moved to Syracuse in 1961.

Some more Syracuse History:

That 1961 was affiliated with the Minnesota Twins recently removed from Washington D.C. The Chiefs were unaffiliated in 1962 and became a Tigers affiliate from 1963 through the 1966 season. The Yankees then stepped in and remained until 1977. The Blue Jays came to an agreement with the club in 1978. I'm told that Utica was the Blue Jays' only farm team in 1977 since the expansion process was substantially different from todays and the Jays didn't have enough organizational players to stock their own teams in AAA thru A.

Hmm, I'll have to expect a good week next week, as I'm in this picture. I'm in the left corner, wearing a red golf shirt with a backwards Red Sox cap. Small world.

The Field Turf looks like it could use some fertilizer
