According to our latest poll, Bauxites-- by a margin of about 3-1 -- are rooting for a mimosa (champagne and Minute Maid) World Series celebration. But just for a minute, forget about the winners and losers -- what would you most like to see happen in this World Series?

For example ...

  • Craig Biggio at 2B replicating Bill Wambsganss' unassisted triple play?
  • Frank Thomas, MVP?
  • Jeff Bagwell, MVP?
  • Roger Clemens matching Don Larsen's perfecto?
  • Clemens giving up twenty-four earned runs over seven-plus innings over the course of the Series?
  • Willy Taveras stealing 11 bases?
  • Damaso Marte vulturing three wins?
  • Brad Lidge closing out four games and shutting up doubters once and for all?
  • Four complete game wins by four different White Sox hurlers?
  • Ozzie Guillen getting tossed from multiple games?
  • Ken Harrelson contracting laryngitis?
  • Mark Buehrle finally stepping onto the national stage -- in a good way or a bad way?
  • Cliff Politte getting a ring?
  • Bobby Jenks reprising the role of Mitch Williams to Lance Berkman's Joe Carter?
Be specific ... be creative ... what do you want to see happen?

Fox Sports still wants to see the Yankees happen in this World Series.
I want to see some non-controversial umpiring.

Me too. So the World Series winner is not disputed because of an invisible tag.

I want to see seven games, the last two of which are decided by one run in the final at-bat...which I guess means the White Sox have to win, but that's okay.

Two of my favourite pitchers are Roger and Contreras, for different reasons. A perfecto tonight from either man would be delightful, and raise the bar for the rest of the Series. A bunch of complete games would set the tone for a retro Series and the appearance of the Ghost of Shoeless Joe at Game 7.

Rob, that's not the case -- wouldn't a Game 7 where the Astros, leading 1-0, get a Jermaine Dye riple play ball with the bases loaded and nobody out to end the game and the Series fit your criteria?

I just want more cool and memorable Baseball Moments. This post-season has already given us El Duque vs the Red Sox, and the great game-changing homers from Ausmus and Pujols - it would be nice if the WS could top it.

Yeah, "decided by one run" is a bit ambiguous, isn't it? I meant to say the winning run scores in the bottom of the last inning in at least the last two games. Exciting games, in other words. Think "Game 7, 2001" instead of "Games 1-4, 2004."

And I'm rooting for the White Sox anyway, by default -- as long as Clemens is an Astro, go Chicago. Apparently only 22 out of 108 people agree with me so far, though...

Ok, what is up with that syth behind the anthem, or the fact that the Sox couldn't decide if they wanted to High-five or not?

An odd and amusing beginning to the game, and the first pitch is still 5 minutes away!
