When did Vernon Wells start using a Sam Bat? It must've been some time between May 23rd (the last time I photographed the Jays prior to last Sunday's Tigers game) and June 11th.

That's a nice bat he's holding there, but I've never seen him with a bat so cool or hot as this one.

Let's not forget that Gary Sheffield also uses the Sambat (or he did in 2004, anyway). Bonds used one when he broke the record in 2001, too.
