Dustin Majewski's walk off home run was the highlight of the night in the minors. The affiliates went 2-5 on the night.

The Chiefs managed just four hits on the night, with Figueroa getting two doubles. Josh Towers pitched 7 solid innings giving up 2 runs on 8 hits and 2 walks. Towers struck out 5. Davis Romero finished up with two scoreless two innings.

Akron 1 at New Hampshire 3

Dustin Majewski ended the game in the ninth with a 2 run homer. He had two home runs, a walk and all three RBIs on the night in 5 PAs. After hitting .271/.398/.457 in Dunedin, Majewski is hitting .257/.385/.528 in NH in 144 ABs.

David Purcey had perhaps his best start of the season last night. He gave up 1 run over 7 innings, allowing 6 hits and 2 walks. Purcey struck out 9 on the night.

Deadspin readers will appreciate that it was Carl Monday night at the park. Everyone else will go, 'huh'?. Other than that there wasn't too much noteworthy in either game.

Lansing 4 at Cedar Rapids 14

The Nuts banged out 16 hits last night, but scored just 4 times. How'd this happen? I don't know - there was one pickoff and one double play, but you should score more than 4 runs with 16 hits and a walk. David Hicks had 3 hits, including 2 doubles, in 5 PAs. Metropoulos and Armstrong each had 3 singles.

Williamsport 8 at Auburn 2

Jonathan Baksh had 2 hits on the night raising his average to .286. Adam Calderone also had two hits for the Doubledays.

Brandon Magee had a rough outing giving up 5 earned runs in 4.1 innings. He struck out 6 and walked 2 and allowed one HR.

Danville 4 at Pulaski 6

Jon Jaspe and Raul Barron each had three hits for the P-Jays. Travis Snider had an off night with just a single and a walk and was caught trying to steal third. This guy's a bust.

3 Stars!
3 - David Hicks: 3-5, two doubles
2 - David Purcey: 7 innings, 9 Ks, 2 BBs, 1 run
1 - Dustin Majewski: 2-4, 2 HRs and a walk (including a walkoff HR)

There was almost another walk-off in New Hampshire today.  The Fisher Cats trailed 8-4 heading to the bottom of the eighth where they scored six runs, capped by a grand slam from Chip Cannon, his twentieth.  The Cats won 10-9.

Gustavo Chacin's 2nd start in Syracuse is going much better so far. One earned run, one walk and 4 strikeouts in 3.1 innings.

Gus ended the day throwing 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits and 1 walk. He also struck out 6. Unfortunately, he is in line for the loss. Funny how things work in baseball, huh?

Gus did just fine. He went 5 innings: 6 hits 1bb 6k for 2 er. He ran into some trouble in the 5th, giving up a run on three singles and a wild pitch. But he got a swinging strike with his 77th pitch to end the inning and his day.
