Trivia time....

We all know Lyle Overbay.  I found out this week that Seth Overbey pronounces his name "Overbee".

So its Overbay and Overbee and let there be no confusion!

It is Friday...Overbay like Calle Johansen reminds me of a summer song:

I'm sitting by the dock Overbay
watching the tides roll away

Sung to the tune of the Abba classic, Knowing Me, Knowing You ...

Overbey, Overbay ...
Who knew there were two ways to say
The names of these Jays ...

Knowing Seth, Lyle too (ah-haa)
There is nothing we can do
Overbey, Overbay ... (ah-haa)

Mick, as awful as your lyrics are, they're still better than the original.

Johnson activated, Lind to Syracuse.

Good move, though Phillips DFA would have been better.

any word on who was removed from the 40 man roster to make room for Reed?

Wells, Johnson, Rios are at the top of the Jay order tonight.  Royce Clayton and John McDonald, subbing for Glaus, hit 8th and 9th.

The Twins' 20-14 win in the opener of their doubleheader with the White Sox was impressive, but pales beside this game.  Perhaps the south side of Chicago is not the baddest part of town for pitchers.

A half season of "we're missing our leadoff hitter" and he returns only to bat second? I know that in the grand scheme of things it doesn't make a whole lot of difference, I just find this very odd.

but pales beside this game.

A Jays' connection there: Dennis Lamp and Bill Caudill both pitched for the Cubs.

Looking at the boxscore, it reminds me of a day when Maddox looked natural and Maddux, not so much. So many years later, it's now the opposite of course. I don't imagine a repeat of this for Jhonny and Dwyane, though perhaps to folks in Cleveland and Miami, these seem like natural spellings. I guess if Andruw can eventually look normal, why not?

Of course, GGross in the boxscore is also evocative for Blue Jay fans.

Chuck, I agree that it's odd to put Reed second but Vernon is hitting .341 and slugging .818 from the leadoff spot since he was moved there - I figure Gibby's going to ride that wave until it crests.
