The Bashers are returning to the Alomar division.

Beckett and Webb are two ace-calibre starters in their prime.  I am looking to enter the season with one of them and use the other to get a front-line offensive player in his prime.

If you have such a bat to offer, let me know.

I have taken over the Trembling Wilburys. Apparently they were too good and needed to be knocked down to Earth by a relatively inexperienced GM.

I am open to trading anyone on my roster if the price is right. That includes megastar David Wright, as well as unheralded stat machine Pat Burrell, Yovani Gallardo, and Mo Rivera. I am particularly looking to shop Burrell, who has neither OBP'd below .388 nor SLG'd below .502 in the last three seasons, and who has averaged 30 homers on the nose over that span. And I'm looking for a shortstop. A really good one.

The Middleclass Elitists have completed a trade with the honorable Burlington Mazters, sending 2B Chase Utley the Mazters way in exchange for SS Jose Reyes.  While it was hard letting go of a player of Utley's considerable stature, the Elitists' roster is looking forward to finally looking forward to a season where the entire SB stat category isn't punted once again.

In Alomar, the mighty midget have to trade both A-Rod and Roy Oswalt.  Any and all trade offers are considered, especially one for one swaps as I have a couple people I'd already like to keep.

Hey Guys,

I've just been looking at my BARFIELD End of Season rosters and keeper list and they don't really match up.  Therefore, since I've taken over the K-Town Mashers, I'm not totally sure who all is on my team.  Any help?

seeyou - Wednesday, March 05 2008 @ 05:16 PM EST (#180673) #

Hi Drew,

You should go from the end of the year roster.   I believe the keeper list didn’t take into account deals made during last season, so that’s why you might see a player there that’s not on the end of the year roster.

Justin (T-Birds) - Wednesday, March 05 2008 @ 05:35 PM EST (#180675) #
Ah, thank you.  Would anyone perhaps be able to tell me the staus of holdovers?  Maybe judging from last year?  Sorry to be such a pain, but I  hate to both Gwyn with all this petty stuff.  He's busy enough, methinks.

Drew,

I can't tell you the whole roster, but I can tell you the guys worth mentioning (all of whom will be 2nd year players if you keep them, all of them were drafted or traded for last season):

Adam Dunn
Curtis Granderson
Carlos Guillen
David Ortiz
Brad Penny
Johan Santana
Brandon Webb

*sniff*... I miss you guys...

The one guy you might be wondering about is Grady Sizemore. He was the price for Santana, so no, you don't have him.

Alomar Division trade: Eastern Shore Birds send Pujols and Johan Santana to the Mighty Midgets for ARod.

(Last season in Barfield my Eastern Shore Birds traded ARod and Ben Sheets for Pujols. So I guess this trade is some kind of karma thing.)

BaseballNorth - Sunday, March 09 2008 @ 11:52 PM EDT (#180820) #
Making my first appearance in Alomar - I'm looking to improve my current keeper situation.

My assets include:
Chase Utley
Carlos Lee
Pedro Martinez
Delmon Young
Jose Valverde
Phil Hughes

I'm looking for 2 quality players in return for Lee but would also consider moving Utley if the price is right.

Email me if you are interested in making a serious offer.  I wont be checking this thread often during the week - so email is the best way to get a hold of me.

Cheers!

Carter Division:

3-manager trade initated by me (obviously in two seperate deals)

deal #1 - garth's iorgees (formerly the see you's superstars) trades dustin mcgowan and joba chamberlain for carl crawford, a player that was on the Yaztremskis last season.

deal #2 - carl crawford and alex rios shipped to the team that was called the senate (brock crackaz) last season for albert pujols.

Four Seamer - Thursday, March 13 2008 @ 06:13 PM EDT (#181020) #

deal #1 - garth's iorgees (formerly the see you's superstars)

Good thing my Garth Iorg Gremlins moved up to Barfield this year, or the Carter Division would have its own Roughriders/Rough Riders controversy!

unclejim - Friday, March 14 2008 @ 03:33 AM EDT (#181029) #
Can someone clarify a rule for me.

If I trade for a player with 2 years service on another team do I also inherit the service tie so in effect can only hold this keeper for one more year, or does the time reset if you aquire a player from a trade ?   My guess is the keeper time will travel with a player as this mirrors the way things work in the real world with free agent status not resetting if a player moves teams, but  then I could be wrong.

cheers,
James

Ha ha - I hope that it becomes an issue next season!

Gwyn - Friday, March 14 2008 @ 11:53 AM EDT (#181038) #
unclejim:  the service clock resets for a player every time he moves team.  So if you;re trading for a player it's the time he is on your team that counts.

Alomar Trade!

Baseball North and Horse Field Hammers complete a trade amongst the deadline day frenzy.

Horse Field Hammers acquire stud OF Carlos Lee while moving a 3rd year keeper in Ichiro.

In exchange Baseball North gets Ichiro Suzuki, and Dice-K Matsuzaka.

On a side note - Baseball North considers changing team name to Baseball East after the influx of Japanese talent.

Cheers!
