There is a terrific piece on the front of the Globe Sports sections today on the BCPBL by Mathew Sekeres.

The best amateur league in Canada the BCPBL is for 16-18 year olds and is designed to groom them for the U.S college game, although the best players of course are often drafted by MLB teams, 72 over the last ten years including big names such as Harden and Francis.  There are six players in the league expected to be drafted this year, including Brett Lawrie who is likely to becoime the first Canadian drafted in the first round since Scott Thorman in 2000.

I'd love to take a trip out west and see a few BCPBL games.

Just a correction, Phillipe Aumont went at around 11th overall last year.

And I guess I have competition for the little league I run to be the best in Canada.
