The GCL Jays had a twelve run inning which pretty much guarantees the win.  Lansing and Auburn won with great starts from Marc Rzepczynski and Joel Carreno.  Dunedin and Syracuse each won in extra innings.  New Hampshire were on the wrong side of 18 runs.

Lehigh Valley 2  Syracuse 3 - 13 innings

David Purcey started and pitched seven innings, gave up two runs on nine hits but with no walks.  Syracuse were out-hit 17-9 but had two big hits in the thirteenth.  Wayne Lydon led off with a single and stole second; Buck Coats was intentionally walked; Curtis Thigpen reached on a bunt single; and Matt watson hit a sac fly.

Coats, Thigpen and Luna had two hits each.

New Hampshire 5  Connecticut 18

Kenny Rodriguez was clocked for six runs in two inning; Orlando Roman gave up seven in 1.2 innings; and Daryl Harang gave up four.

The Fisher Cats had 13 hits in a losing cause.  JP Arencibia was 3-5 with a home run, Eric Nielsen was also 3-5.  Scott Campbell didn't play, presumably he was on his way to New York for the futures game.  Snider was 0-5.

Dunedin 8  St. Lucie 5 - 10 innings

Dunedin trailed 5-3 heading to the ninth.  Anthony Hatch singled and with two outs St. Lucie made an error to extend the game.  Sean Shoffit took advantage by doubling in the tying run to head to extras.  In the tenth Brian Dopirak hit a three run home run for the win.  Randy Boone started and pitched OK, eight hits in six innings.

The "experienced" guys, Dopirak and Hatch, had three hits each.

Cedar Rapids 2  Lansing 5

Marc Rzepczynski pitched seven shutout innings, a three hitter with seven K's.  Zip has a 2.14 ERA and looks ready for a trip to Dunedin.  Lansing went ahead 1-0 in the third on an RBI single by Justin Jackson.  The Lugnuts added two in the seventh, Kevin Ahrens and Jon Baksh singled and Johermyn Chavez tripled.  In the eighth Liuzza, Cooper, Ahrens and Baksh each singled.

Baksh had three hits, Jackson, Ahrens and Chavez had two hits each.

Auburn 5  Aberdeen 0

After being blown out two straight the Doubledays got some revenge in this game.  Joel Carreno pitched a two hitter over six innings with eight K's.  Carreno is 21 years old and this season he has pitched 24 innings; allowed 14 hits; and recorded 27 K's.

Auburn went ahead 1-0 in the fifth, Jon DelCampo tripled and scored on a ground out.  In the eighth Auburn made it 3-0 when Adam Amar doubled in two runs.  DelCampo then hit a two run home run in the ninth.

Mike McDade had three hits, Amar, DelCampo and Chris House had 2 hits each.

GCL Jays 19  GCL Indians 8

The Jays had a 12 run inning, the third.  The inning went like this: walk; 4 singles; 4 walks; single; out; double; home run (Yensy Perez); single; 2 outs.  16 hitters, 12 runs, one left on base.  That made the score 16-2 and obviously the Jays cruised to the win.

Marcus Brisker, Balbino Fuenmayor, Yensy Perez and Arvin Gonzalez each had three hits.  Robby Diaz started and left in the middle of the first inning after a play at second base.
