I have some additional video to share as well as pictures featuring some of the Lansing roster.  Video shows Moises Sierra hitting a home run and Carlos Perez doubling to the wall off Deck McGuire.

I have posted both vidoes to Vimeo.  At Vimeo you can also see my videos of Asher Wojciechowski; Aaron Sanchez; Deck McGuire; Noah Syndergaard; Mike McDade; and others from last season.

Moises Sierra is headed for AA and here is a shot of his to go along with the video.

The minor league season starts on Thursday and the Lansing roster will be one of the youngest in the league.  Headlining the roster will be Carlos Perez who doubled off McGuire in the video.

Another youngster is second baseman Gari Pena shown below.

Casey Lawrence is a non-drafted free agent who made it to Lansing at the end of last season.  He will return to Lansing to start 2011.

A newcomer in the bullpen is Alex Pepe who has missed time with injuries.  Pepe throws close to side-arm from the left side.

Thanks, Gerry.

Is it my imagination, or has Sierra added some muscle in the lower body?  In any event, that homer was not a cheap shot by any means.

Well I think Sierra has added something.  I did think he was looking heavier when I saw him but I don't know if that is muscle from working out or fat from being inactive.  Sierra is not very tall for a baseball player, I would guess he is around 5'10' and he can't afford to get too heavy and still handle the outfield.  The patrons of the Sam Adams bar in left field of the Fisher cats stadium will get to see if its muscle or fat.

Wouldn't Sierra be in right field and Tolisano in left?

My reference to the Sam Adams bar patrons relates to the home runs Sierra will hit into the bar situated just beyond the left field wall.  Lots of home runs = muscle.  Lots of fly balls = fat.

The "Sam Adams" bar test is probably more appealing than the "John Turner bum check" test.

The Brewers have a Rising Stars game in early April at Miller Park before all the prospects head off to their respected affiliates.

I wonder in the future if the Jays would consider something like this. I would certainly go.
