Two wins in six tries (with two games canned) for the affiliates on Saturday. Not a ton of excitement to report but a sleeper prospect continued his dominance from the mound.

Iowa 5    Las Vegas 2 (Suspended in 4th)

They'll pick this one up later today, I presume.

New Hampshire 3    Akron 8

Sean Ochinko had two hits including a double while Ryan Schimpf homered for the Fisher Cats. Jake Marisnick was 1-for-5 but didn't strike out.

Ryan Tepera was roughed up going four innings and allowing four runs on four hits and, you guessed it, four walks. He struck out three. Sam Dyson allowed two runs on two hits and two walks in two thirds of an inning.

Dunedin @ Daytona- Postponed

Lansing 4    Great Lakes 3 (12 innings)

K.C. Hobson had two hits, including his 33rd double, and drove in a pair while Nick Baligod hit his first Midwest League homer. Chris Hawkins had a hit and a walk.

Justin Nicolino started this one and was good, not great. Nicolino went five and allowed three runs (two earned) on six hits and a walk. He struck out four. Five relievers finished things off concluding with Alex Meyer who nailed down his 31st save.

Yakima 3    Vancouver 1

Javier Avendano continued his recent dominance by going five innings and allowing a run on a hit and a walk while striking out five.

The Canadians' offense was very quiet with just three hits. Art Charles did connect for his 2nd homer.

Burlington 7    Bluefield 2

Not a great start for Kevin Comer who allowed four runs on seven hits in five innings. On the plus side, he walked just one and struck out five. Griffin Murphy pitched two innings in relief and allowed just one hit while striking out three.

At the dish the Jays managed just five hits. Jacob Anderson tripled while Santiago Nessy smacked his fifth homer. Dickie Thon and Jorge Vega-Rosado each had a hit.

Christian Lopes is quietly having a nice first season in professional ball. He is among the league leaders in ISO and wRC+ while still being one of the younger players in the APPY. It may not be Manny Machado but it is nice none the less.
