Given the ML team needs starting pitching who is doing well?
  • Scott Copeland 0.90 ERA in 3 starts in AAA is wow.  20 IP 0 HR 5 BB 12 SO.
  • Matt Boyd in AA is off to a good ERA start with a 0.00 in 3 starts 14 1/3 IP is a bit low 7 BB vs 24 SO.  Very wild so not yet despite that perfect ERA
  • Randy Wolf* in AAA 2.25 ERA in 3 starts, just 16 IP,  7 BB vs 12 SO  isn't ideal but keeps him in the conversation.
  • Andrew Albers* in AAA 2.65 ERA in 3 starts 17 IP 5 BB vs 10 SO.  Doing well but again the BB-SO numbers make me nervous about his ability.

3 LHP and a RHP.  with sub 3 ERA's in AAA or AA.  Boyd is the only prospect of the batch, at 24 yrs old.  The other 3 are 27+ so wysiwyg.

Interesting to see just how much MLB experience there is in Buffalo.  On the pitching side, out of 15 guys to pitch this season, only Scott Copeland, Gregory Infante, Ryan Tepera and org soldier Austin Bibens-Dirkx have yet to garner a big league pay cheque.

For the hitters, it's only catchers Jiminez and Ochinko and AA call-up Andy Burns who have yet to make the show.  Nearly a dozen guys have a full season or more in the bigs, lead by elder statesmen Francis and Wolf.  Even AA has MLB vets in relievers Burke, Burns, West and Perez,  1B Jake Fox (with an OPS currently over 1000) and OF Melky Mesa.

Have we ever had a more experienced AAA team?
