Vancouver Canadians
The Vancouver Canadians outlasted the Spokane Indians 15-14 in a game that went 10 innings on Friday.
I watched the game live at Nat Bailey and it looked like Vancouver was going to win easily after scoring eight runs in the second thanks in part to a grand slam home run from Jaxson West.
Vancouver added five more in the fourth to make it 13-4 but Spokane chipped away at the Canadians scoring two in the fourth and fifth along with three in the fifth and five in the seventh.
Spokane added a single run in the eighth to notch the game 13 all when a Roldy Brito double scored Parker Coddou.
With Spokane taking a 14-13 lead in the top of the tenth, Maddox Latta started the C’s half of the inning at second base and came home on a throwing error to tie the game at 14.
Bryce Chance bunted Austin Smith to third and Justin Loer’s balk on the mound would send Smith home making it 15-14 Vancouver and that allowed Vancouver to win the game.
Vancouver have two more games in their final home series of the year. Today’s game starts at 5:05pm PDT with Landon Maroudis (3-10, 5.68 ERA) getting the ball for Vancouver.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats lost 8-4 to the Hartford Yard Goats on Friday.
The Fisher Cats looked to be in command of this one after four innings when Tucker Toman’s two run single got the New Hampshire offence rolling.
Hartford would answer easily and often though from that point on, scoring six runs by the end of the seventh and another in the ninth. The three run seventh included a two-run double by Jack O’Dowd and an RBI double by right fielder Zach Kokoska.
New Hampshire and Hartford play again today starting at 6:03 PM ET. Nolan Perry (3-4, 2.71 ERA) will start for the Fisher Cats.
Dunedin Blue Jays
The Dunedin Blue Jays beat the Palm Beach Cardinals 5-4 Friday thanks to strong pitching and Ryan Franden’s first professional home run.
Carson Messina scattered four hits over four innings, allowing a run to go with three walks and five strikeouts while Gavin Seebold had shutout eighth and ninth innings to get the save.
Along with his first professional home run, Franden added two RBI’s and a run.
Dunedin and Palm Beach play today at 6:30 pm ET. Starter’s have not been announced for either team.
Buffalo Bisons
The Buffalo Bisons lost 5-3 to the Rochester Red Wings on Friday.
Jameson Taillon had three strong innings in his rehab start but was pulled in the fourth when he allowed a single and two walks that were sandwiched between a Sean Keys missed catch.
Rochester’s Liover Peguero immediately hit a bases clearing double off of reliever Sam Gardner and that allowed the Red Wings to score four total runs in that inning.
Taillon’s outing ended as 3 1/3 innings of work with four earned runs on three hits , two walks and three strikeouts.
Buffalo could only muster a single run in the fifth and Rochester added another in their half of the same inning.
Rochester held the Bisons off the scoresheet the rest of the way to take their third straight game in the series.
Buffalo and Rochester play again today at 6:45pm ET. Austin Marozas gets the start for Buffalo (0-1, 1.42 ERA).
