The C's clawed their way back in the sixth with a Kevin Garcia ground ball scoring a Juan Kelly double in the sixth. They tied the game in the ninth when Austin Davis scored on a wild pitch after a leadoff single. Ryan Metzler singled and Davis went to third on an error by Hops pitcher Ariel Hernandez.

Daniel Lietz
endured a long third inning when the C's defence were unable to turn a double play on a couple of occasions. He ran into trouble when he plunked the leadoff hitter in the fourth and made an error by throwing a sacrifice bunt attempt at the runner heading towards first. The lefty struck out his only hitter of the night right after that but a single, a double and another single led to three runs. In all, Lietz pitched four innings and gave up three runs (two earned) on six hits, a walk and a HBP. He pitched in the 72-91 MPH range and eight of his 10 outs in play were on the ground.

Conor Fisk
flummoxed the Hops enough with his assortment of 75-77 and 89-91 MPH pitches and got the win for his efforts. He struck out five and got four outs on the ground from the seven that were in play.

J.C. Cardenas was on base four times with two hits, two walks and stole a base. His game-winning RBI single was the only hit for Vancouver with runners in scoring position.

Austin Davis had a two-hit night with a base on balls. Davis got the rally started in the ninth with a single.

Earl Burl III
had one hit but whiffed four times. There was one at-bat where he expressed his displeasure with some of the umpire's calls. However, he made the big defensive play of the game with his center field assist to get a runner at the plate in the fourth.

For Hillsboro, starter Jeferson Mejia put together a five-inning outing of one run on four hits and two walks. He struck out eight with an assortment of pitches from 78-94 MPH.

Thank you, as always, #2JB.  Lane Thomas looks awfully young.  Which I guess makes sense- he is awfully young.
