Chavez Young gunned down three runners for New Hampshire. The Fisher Cats took a 6-3 lead to the bottom of the ninth but lost in a walk-off. Buffalo's winning streak came to an end. Vancouver exploded for 16 hits en route to a nice win. Dunedin won both ends of a doubleheader.

St Lucie 2 Dunedin 5 - game 1

St Lucie 3 Dunedin 5 - game 2

FCL Blue Jays 6 FCL Yankees 4

This is what I noted from yesterday's games.

Kevin Smith who has been struggling got the day off. Forrest Wall and Otto Lopez, who were excellent yesterday, went hitless. The Bisons had five hits, all singles.

Nate Pearson pitched a clean inning. Thomas Hatch went six innings allowing one earned run on five hits. He struck out six. It was a nice tidy performance. Anthony Castro and CJ Edwards each pitched an inning, Edwards gave up a two run home run.

Nick Fraze made his first start for New Hampshire. He lasted 4.2 innings and had ten baserunners, eight hits and two walks, and three of them scored. Four of the hits came in the first inning. Fraze settled down somewhat after that. New Hampshire took a 6-3 lead to the bottom of the ninth. The first four hitters of the ninth singled off Sean Rackoski. He then walked in a run. Brady Rodning followed and gave up the tying and winning runs. Chavez Young threw out three runners from centre field, two at home and one at third.

Tanner Kirwer started the scoring for NH with a solo home run. Demi Orimoloye doubled twice and drove in a run. Harrisburg committed five errors that led to three unearned runs. Samad Taylor stole his 25th base.

The C's scored early and often, plating seven runs through the first three innings. Luis De Los Santos started the game with a triple and the C's were off. Later he added a double. Will Robertson, in the two hole, went 3-4 with a walk, two runs scored, two RBI and two doubles. Spencer Horwitz had three hits and drove in a run. Rafael Lantigua also had three hits. Zac Cook homered and doubled, scored three and drove in three.

CJ Van Eyk went five innings. A two run home run accounted for the only runs he allowed. He struck out seven. After struggling through May, June and July, Van Eyk has pitched better in August. In his three starts he has a 2.57 ERA and a 1.00 WHIP. Early in the season it was noted that Van Eyk had problems with an inconsistent delivery and landing spot. Those are not easy to fix but hopefully he now has a solution.

In Dunedin's first game, with the scores tied at two in the sixth, PK Morris and Harry Ray doubled in runs to make it 5-2. Earlier Ray had hit a solo home run. Addison Barger also hit a solo shot. Nathanael Perez went six innings with eight K's and just two runs conceded. He has been improving all season but it could be too little too late for the 23 year old.

In game two, the D-Jays scored five runs on five hits. Miguel Hiraldo had a two run home run.

Dahian Santos threw three shutout innings, one hit, four K's. Rafael Ohashi is in the bullpen now and had a one hit inning. M had two doubles and drove in two. Victor Mesia and Damiano Palmegiani also had two hits each.
