Notes

It was a bullpen game for the Bisons. Hayden Juenger struck out three and walked one over two shutout innings. Junior Fernández, Yosver Zulueta and Zach Pop maintained a no-hitter through five with spotless frames. Zulueta struck out two and walked one in the fourth. Paul Fry was fried for seven runs in one-third of an inning. Gabe Klobostis gave up three more runs in 1-2/3 innings. Hagen Danner struck out the side in a perfect stanza. Addison Barger had a two-run double and walked twice and Nathan Lukes supplied a two-run single among his two knocks. Mason McCoy also had a two-hit night.

Abdiel Mendoza gave up two runs over 4-2/3 innings on four hits, a walk and a hit by pitch but struck out four in his Fisher Cats debut. Al Pesto and Fitz Stadler supplied shutout relief with Peston whiffing two over 2-1/3 innings and Stadler striking out the side to get around two walks. Rainer Nuñez and Miguel Hiraldo doubled. Steward Berroa had the other base knock.

Devonte Brown and Michael Turconi both hit two-run home runs and drew a walk to supply all of the Vancouver offence. Peyton Williams had a single and a walk. Dasan Brown and Cade Doughty had the other hits with Dasan Brown picking up an assist in center field. Cooper Benson pitched two shutout frames with a 2-2 K/BB total to earn the save.

Irv Carter was not good. He gave up three runs and walked six in 2-2/3 innings. That line would have been even worse but Davis Feldman stranded the bases loaded. Despite four walks, Feldman whiffed six over 4-1/3 innings. Michael Brewer pitched two goose eggs to get the win. Roque Salinas and J.C. Masson both had two-hit, two-RBI nights with each of them getting a double. Tucker Toman had a walk and stole a base. Bryce Arnold had a double.

in the FCL, Jace Bohrofen had a hit and a walk, Carlos Vazquez walked three times and Kendy Chirinos had a home run and took one for the team. Fernando Perez struck out five over three innings of work, allowing just a hit and a walk. Winder Garcia whiffed three over two scoreless frames of one-hit ball. Jerry Huntzinger gave up three runs in the ninth for the loss.

Down in the Dominican, the Jays had just four hits with one of them belonging to Enmanuel Bonilla. Sans Omosako took the loss by giving up two runs over four innings. Raudy Gomez gave up just one run over five innings. Both hurlers struck out four.

I was surprised that M Dominguez was promoted to NH rather than D Harrison. IMO Harrison was consistent and has not really struggled. Dominguez has struggled a lot since being drafted in 2019 but this is a good year for him. I always thought his control was his weakness.

As usual I don't really know what the tools are for either pitcher.

I think it's probably that Harrison hasn't been starting for very long, bpoz. I remember that one of the minor league write-ups said that Harrison was primarily a reliever but was thrust into starting a game because they had no one else. He did well so the team kept him in that role.

Looks like Turconi hit for the cycle

Danner pitched 2 days in a row. Paxton Schultz, C Eden, D Schneider, T Morris and others are doing well. I don't consider them impact prospects. I do consider Orelvis & Barger impact prospects. IMO C Eden has a definite role as a D & SB specialist on the Jays. Some will get a shot I expect.
