Buffalo split a doubleheader, Ricky Tiedemann had trouble finding the zone in game one. New Hampshire came from behind to win. Zach Britton had an excellent game. If only he can stay healthy. Vancouver had three hits and lost, Dunedin had just two hits and lost.

Buffalo 7 Worcester 9 - game 1

Buffalo 5 Worcester 0 - game 2

New Hampshire 5 Binghamton 2

Vancouver 2 Spokane 4

Lakeland 5 Dunedin 1

Three Stars

Third Star - Ryan Jennings

Second Star - Will Robertson

First Star - Zach Britton

Ricky Tiedemann has had a rough start to the season for a number one prospect. Last week he went 2.2 innings, using 65 pitches and giving up a lead off home run. Yesterday he had an excellent first inning but then couldn't throw a strike in the second inning. He walked four, and was charged with two runs. He threw 44 pitches, just 19 strikes and 25 balls. He didn't record a strikeout. You could wonder about the cold weather but one of the concerns with Tiedemann coming into the season has been his control. AAA hitters won't swing as freely as lower level hitters.

The pitchers who followed Ricky, Paxton Schultz and Troy Watson were roughed up too.

Nate Lukes hit a grand slam in game one.

The Bisons used four pitchers in a shutout in game two. Will Robertson and Leo Jimenez drove in two runs each.

Zach Britton homered and doubled and drove in three runs for NH. Garrett Spain also homered. Rainer Nunez had two hits and two walks. Miguel Hiraldo also had two hits. Michael Dominguez started and had five K's in four innings.

Vancouver had to face Chase Dollander, a first round draft pick last season. The C's couldn't get a hit off him in five innings. Ryan Jennings matched him through four innings before the bullpen gave up the four Spokane runs. Jennings had five K's in his four innings. The C's ended the game with three hits. Dasan Brown homered with one of them.

Only two hits for Dunedin, Arjun Nimmala had one of them and also walked. Fernando Perez gave up four runs in 4.1 innings.

Jays have apparently signed a 20 yr Cuban OF for $600,000.

As some were saying, Ricky is simply too good to be wasting in Buffalo (like Pearson previously).

AAA players have 20+ABs so far so SSS. Just want to see my highly valued prospects results. Orelvis has a nice K rate. Barger 3 doubles, nice bb & K rate and played 3B & RF (how well I don't know). With 15 ABs not much to see in Palmegiani yet but Jimenez BA is pretty good and bb/k is excellent.

Zack Britton played C for NH last night. LH bat with power, last year had more bb than Ks and can steal a base. Hope his catcher D is good.

I think they had money left over because of a 16-year old who was actually  17 and whom they will apparently sign next year.

Yorman Licourt is an outfielder with some pop--maybe more what Fangraphs would call Raw Power than actual Game Power at this point. Bats right.

Cade Doughty is joining Dunedin on a rehab assignment. It sounds like he must have missed time during spring training.
