New Hampshire mashed, Dunedin were postponed, Buffalo's comeback fell short, and Vancouver lost
Vancouver Canadians
The Vancouver Canadians (50-41) have lost four straight now and are seven games back of the Eugene Emeralds with Wednesday’s 4-1 loss to the Emeralds at Nat Bailey Stadium.
Vancouver's only run came in the eighth when newcomer Peyton Powell singled and then advanced on a wild pitch and a groundout before Cutter Coffey singled him home.
Vancouver and Eugene play a double header today with a game at 1:05 and then another, which is a June 21st rainout makeup game.
Buffalo Bison
The Bisons tied their game against the Columbus Clippers at 4-4 by the middle of the ninth inning but the Clippers got two in the bottom of the ninth to win 6-4.
Michael Stefanic’s sac fly made it 4-2 as Christian Bethancourt scored and then RJ Schreck’s double scored Alan Roden with Jonatan Clase getting tagged out at home.
Schreck later scored on a single by Buddy Kennedy and the Bisons added another to make it 4-4
With the loss the Bisons are now 37-59. The two teams play again today at 12:05PM ET.
New Hampshire Fisher Cats
The New Hampshire Fisher Cats mashed the Hartford Yard Goats 10-2 Wednesday using four run first and fourth innings and some stand out hitting from Jackson Hornung at DH and Je’Von Ward in left.
Hornung in his recent callup from Vancouver, had two runs and two hits as well as a walk in this one while Ward had two runs and two hits to go with 3 RBI’s and a home run.
Starter Grant Rogers went six innings allowing four hits with one earned run as well as two walks and two K’s. Chay Yeager tossed an inning of relief as well.
New Hampshire and Hartford play today at 6:35 PM ET.
Dunedin Blue Jays
The Dunedin Blue Jays game against the Tampa Tarpons was postponed on Wednesday.
Dunedin and Palm Beach play today at 6:30 PM ET with no mention of a makeup game.
