New Hampshire gets rained out, Dunedin gets blasted, Buffalo sends Manoah to the mound, and Vancouver turns a triple play!

Vancouver Canadians wins 6-5 over Spokane.

The Vancouver Canadians (60-50) beat the Spokane Indians 6-5 Wednesday turning a triple play on the field on a 1-6-3-2 that was a historic first for the High-A Canadians.

Gage Stanifer got the game going with a six inning start where he allowed one earned run against eight hits, four strikeouts and a walk. It was his longest start as a professional.

When the Indians were threatening in the seventh inning with runners at the corners and the tieing run at the plate, reliever Aaron Munson made the smart play to grab the ball on a bouncer back to him and he then hit Arjun Nimmala at short who threw to Carter Cunningham at first and then to catcher Edward Duran who got the Spokane player at the plate.

When the Indians pushed the score to 6-5 in the ninth, Javen Coleman was able to secure a game ending pop out and preserve the tight win for Vancouver.

Vancouver and Spokane play the third game of their series today at 6:35pm PDT.

Buffalo Bison

The Bisons lost 9-4 on Wednesday in a game that included an Alek Manoah rehab stint that lasted 1.2 innings and saw the pitcher get tagged for two hits and three runs while striking out one and walking three.

Adam Macko would take the brunt of the Iron Pigs hitting though surrendering five runs on six hits to go with three strikeouts and a walk in four innings of work.

Buffalo did grab the lead in this one as RJ Schreck and Yohendrink Pinango bashed doubles that scored runs and staked a 4-0 Buffalo lead after the first inning.

With the loss, the Bisons fall to 44-68 on the season. Buffalo and Lehigh Valley play today at ET 6:35 PM EDT

New Hampshire Fisher Cats

New Hampshire's Wednesday game was postponed due to rain.

New Hampshire and Binghamton play today at 6:07 PM ET. A makeup game of Wednesday's contest will be held on August 16th.

Dunedin Blue Jays

The Dunedin Blue Jays were 13-6 losers to the Tampa Tarpons on Wednesday.

Tampa's six run sixth inning put them ahead for good after they already led 7-6.

Were you in the park for the triple play? I've seen a no-hitter (back in university), but never a triple play live. That would be cool to see. Especially one as odd as that one.

Yesavage not off to a good start - walked the first batter, gave up a hit to the 2nd, walked the 3rd. On gameday his pitches that are off are really off - when you miss the strikezone by a mile ML and AAA hitters should be able to layoff and punish you when you do throw a strike. If this is what he does - counts on hitters swinging at pitches well out of the strike zone, then he is about to learn a tough lesson in Buffalo.

Yesavage needed 57 pitches to get five outs. And that was enough, he was pulled.

Time to dial back on the call up rhetoric.

The same thing happened in double A which is the harder transition. He was missing bats tonight and not giving up hard contact. He definitely needs a few more starts to show that he has made the transition. Let's talk about it come September 1.

Springer was 1/2 with a double, a walk, and two runs scored in the game before being replaced. Hopefully he feels good tomorrow after those three PA.

The issue I've noticed with Yesavage is that he gets rattled easily... and games can quickly get away from him. He doesn't have that bulldog mentality... at least not yet.

Some rookies can come up and show up big time in the playoffs; I'm just not sure Yesavage has the same "ice in the veins." And there's no point adding him to the 40-man just to throw long-man innings.
