NOTES

Buffalo shutout LHV. Shane Bieber threw seven innings, CJ Van Eyk added two more. LHV had seven hits.

George Springer hit a home run and Orelvis Martinez had an RBI double for Buffalo's two runs. RJ Schreck had two hits.

Fernando Perez cruised nicely through four innings in his AA debut. In the fifth Binghamton had three hits but Perez escaped as Jackson Hornung threw out a runner at the plate. The first two hitters in the sixth singled and that was the end of the night for Perez. He gave up eight hits but four of them came when the hitters had a third at-bat against him. We shouldn't judge too much after one start though. Perez had just one K. Meanwhile the Binghamton starter had eleven K's in 5.1 innings. By the way, the if you can see the clip of Hornung's throw home, the runner cleans out catcher Robert Brooks in a football style collision.

Alex De Jesus doubled in the first NH run and the other run scored on a double play. Nh had seven hits, De Jesus had two.

Vancouver got off to a quick start, in the first inning JR Freethy led off with a home run and three batters later Sean Keys hit a two run shot for a 3-0 lead. But the hitters found the going tough after that. The C's had just four hits the rest of the game. They added one more run in the eighth when Arjun Nimmala had an RBI double. It was one of two doubles in the game for Nimmala.

While the C's had two home runs, Spokane had three. Chris McElvain went five innings and he was charged with two runs. Reliever Brett Garcia was taken deep twice in the eighth inning.

Johnny King threw five innings for the D Jays, five shutout innings, five K's, three hits, no walks. Tampa trailed 6-3 headed to the bottom of the ninth but Jay Schueler came on and went hit batter, single, home run. Tied game at six and off to extra innings. Manuel Beltre hit a sac fly in the top of the tenth to give the D Jays the lead. Schueler stayed in the game for the bottom of the tenth and got the three outs for the vulture win.

Kendry Chirinos had a big game. He homered in the second inning, he singled in a run in the fifth inning, and he doubled in a run in the seventh. He finished 3-4 with a walk and three RBI. Eric Snow had two hits.
