NOTES

Alek Manoah was back on the bump for Buffalo. Indy scored two runs in the second inning but Manoah got through six innings without further damage. Six innings and 86 pitches were a positive. Five hits and four walks for a WHIP of 1.5 wasn't as good and Manoah had just three K's. The Jays now have a decision to make. There is a 14th pitcher spot available on the major league roster for September but the Jays don't need another starter and we don't know how Manoah would pitch out of the bullpen.

RJ Schreck homered in the third to make it a 2-1 game. On to the sixth and Riley Tirotta started the inning with a double. Two hit batters and a walk tied the game. A ground ball made it 3-2, a sac fly 4-2, a single 5-2 and finally a double steal made it 6-2, the final score. Josh Rivera had two hits, the only multi-hit player.

Adam Macko went 2.2 very good innings in relief of Manoah. Macko's last three appearances have all been in relief. His numbers are good, 10.1 innings, 3 hits, three walks, 11 K's. He is getting setup well to take a step forward in 2026.

Alex Amalfi started for NH and gave up a two run home run in the first inning. He settled down until the sixth when Erie got a couple more.

The Fisher Cats scored a run in the first and then Jackson Hornung homered in the third for their second run. Hornung was 2-3 with a walk.

Arjun Nimmala singled in a run in the first inning but was thrown out heading into second base. He caught a popup to end the second inning and then he was out of the game. Don't know which event caused something to be wrong. We will see if he is back on Tuesday. Carter Cunningham hit a three run home run in the fourth inning. Cunningham singled in two more runs in the fifth. Sean Keys had a single, a double and walked twice.

Austin Cates was on the mound facing Hillsboro for the second time this week. The hitters familiarity didn't matter, Cates threw a one hitter over six innings with six K's. This season pitchers have gone to Vancouver to improve. Cates in his last three starts...17 innings, eight hits, two walks, 24 K's. It is Cates first pro season and he has improved month over month.

Two more notes, first Sam Shaw has been placed on the full season IL by Vancouver. And second, this upcoming week is the last week of the season for Vancouver and Dunedin, six games to go.

With the minor league season ending this month I will try to extrapolate possible future progress.

My big guess is that Tiedeman will recover and be on the major league team before the All Star game next year. I will be disappointed if Yesavage does not make it to the majors next year.

Schreck slowed a bit but still excellent. I guess Leo is done for the year.

1B Nunez (24): 300pa, 8.0b%, 24.0k%, .318bip, .252avg, .122iso, 89wrc+

The only ones that an average line is decent for here is the two young guys Clase and Pinango. And still not great for them.

But as Schneider and Barger show, this doesn't mean the others should be written off either.\

There's actually a bit of hope in Orelvis' line given his super low babip. He's probably earning a lot of that low babip but there's a chance there's plenty of bad luck in there too.

Not much from Valenzuela or Kasevich yet. Kasevich is showing to be very babip dependant still.

AA

Young for Level

OF Arias (21): 150pa, 9.3b%, 25.3k%, .292bip, .226avg, .105iso, 82wrc+

Not great, but not nearly enough to worry about too much.

Once promising season for Paulino has disintegrated. Not much here in this group.

Very Young for Level

IF Nimmala (19): 523pa, 10.1b%, 21.0k%, .269bip, .228avg, .158iso, 94wrc+

If you like Arias, it's hard not to like Coffey too at this point. Toman just interesting enough still.

Duran is all the way back from his ice cold start to the level now, looks like a good one.

nice years at two levels for Freethy and Hernandez. They're on my radar.

keys still good enough especially if you think there's some latent power there.

Parker on the very edge of still interesting thanks to being a C.

Trey just threw the three innings. I guess the Jays are either managing his innings or reading him for a bullpen role.
