NOTES
New Hampshire started the night on a nine game losing streak and they made it ten on Thursday. Over that streak they have had no offense and spotty pitching. They had scored 20 runs in the nine losses and conceded 46. NH had just one hit through four innings in this game but then scored a run with three hits in the fifth. At that point they trailed 4-1. The rains came again and the game was called, another L for NH. Rafael Sanchez started and lasted three innings. The Cats had four hits, Ryan McCarthy doubled twice.
Vancouver have been scoring early recently and this game was no exception. A couple of walks loaded the bases for Arjun Nimmala. He grounded to third but the 3B threw it away letting one run score. Later Edward Duran singled in a second run but Nimmala was thrown out at the plate to end the inning.
The second Everett hitter doubled but then Jackson Wentworth retired nine in a row before walking a hitter. He did give up an unearned run but completed five innings with four K's. Meanwhile Eddie Micheletti doubled in a run in the fifth inning. Sean Keys hit his 18th home run of the season in the eighth inning. That was followed by three Everett errors leading to two more runs. Eight hits for the C's, Duran, Tucker Toman and Peyton Powell had two hits each. Keys walked twice in addition to his home run.
Landen Maroudis has had problems with the strike zone since his return from surgery. Those problems continued on Thursday. He needed 53 pitches to get four outs, 27 strikes and 26 balls. He walked three, hit a batter and threw a wild pitch. Gabriel Batista went the last four innings with five K's.
The D Jays had five hits, Dariel Ramon had two.
