NOTES
In the first Buffalo game RJ Schreck hit a three run home run in the first inning and Adam Kloffenstein and Lazaro Estrada combined on a five hitter. The top three hitters in the Bisons lineup had six of the teams seven hits. Jon Clase doubled twice. Schreck singled to go with the homer. And Buddy Kennedy had two singles.
Kloff went four innings with seven K's, Estrada three innings with two K's.
In game two newish Bison, Elieser Hernandez, did OK first time through the order but gave up six runs in the fourth inning. The Bisons had just two hits and their only run scored on a double play.
Gage Stanifer made his AA debut. He had six up and six down through two innings but walked the lead off runner in the third. That was followed by a single and then three more walks. In the middle of the walks NH manager Brent Lavallee was ejected, I am not sure if it was balls and strikes related. Stanifer escaped the third inning from there but three runs were in. He came back out for the fourth and gave up a lead off home run. He finished the inning and that was his night. Four innings, four K's, five walks, 73 pitches, 39 strikes and 34 balls. It was his first start, he will have one more start to test himself.
The Fisher Cats had four hits.
Vancouver also had just four hits. Their only run came from a Sean Keys home run. It was his 19th and a franchise record. Edinson Batista started and went four plus innings, with six K's. He gave up one run and took the loss. Three C's pitchers combined for 15 strikeouts but that's not how you win.
Dunedin outhit Bradenton 13-3. David Beckles hit his first A level home run and added a double. Austin Smith went 3-4 with a double. Braden Barry, Will Cresswell and Dariel Ramon each had two hits.
It was Johnny King's last start of 2025 and it didn't disappoint. King threw 4.2 innings and struck out seven. He walked three but only gave up one hit. It marks the end of an excellent debut season for King.
