New Hampshire Fisher Cats
New Hampshire lost both of their games in Friday’s doubleheader against the Reading Fightin Phils, with New Hampshire acting as the home squad in the first game and Reading doing so in the second.
In Game one, New Hampshire tied the game in the bottom of the sixth at two when Victor Arias hit a two-run shot that scored Arjun Nimmala. The Fisher Cats had been held off the score sheet to that point, too, with only the Fightin Phils getting single runs in the first and third.
Not to be outdone, though, Austin Murr’s two-run shot in the top of the seventh made it 4-2 Reading. They blanked the Fisher Cats in the bottom of the seventh to get the win.
Reading won the second game 3-2, but it was a Jay Harry solo shot in the second that made it 1-0 New Hampshire to kick off the scoring.
Reading answered back in the bottom of the second when Raylin Heredia doubled in Alex Binelas.
Binelas figured in the scoring again when he doubled home two runs in the fifth inning to make it 3-2 for Reading.
The Fisher Cats did not get any runs in the sixth or seventh innings of game two.
The Fishers Cats and Fightin Phils play Saturday again at 1:05 PM ET. Jackson Wentworth (1-3, 5.61) gets the ball for the Fisher Cats against Adam Seminaris (2-3, 2.86)
Dunedin Blue Jays
The Dunedin Blue Jays won 9-8 on Friday, scoring a single run in the top of the 10th inning to get the win.
Dunedin did have a 3-0 lead after an inning and a half as Aldo Gaxiola’s two-run shot got them going, but the Tampa Tarpons added five of their own in the bottom of the second to make it 5-3.
Dunedin chipped away with single runs in the third and fourth to tie the game at five before the Tarpons Jackson Lovich’s three-run shot in the bottom of the sixth made it 8-5 Tarpons.
Dunedin would get a single run in the 8th and then tie it in the ninth at 8-8 when an Eric Snow single scored David Beckles.
Gaxiola would get another RBI in the top half of the tenth when he singled home Jojo Parker. He finished with four for the game, with a home run and a run.
The Tarpons did have a runner on third with two outs in the bottom of the tenth, but Dunedin managed to get the final out and the win.
Dunedin and Tampa play Saturday at 6:30 pm ET with Dylan Watts (1-0, 4.43 ERA) getting the ball for the Blue Jays and no starter announced for Tampa.Buffalo Bisons
The Buffalo Bisons won 5-2 on Friday over the Worcester Red Sox, with the five runs scattered over five different innings.
Josh Kasevich went three for four in this one with three RBI’s while Je’Von Ward scored three runs, doubled, homered, and added a walk and an RBI.
CJ Van Eyk was tagged for two earned runs and five hits while striking out two. Tanner Andrews got the save for the Bisons.
