NOTES

New Hampshire pounded out 16 hits with four home runs. The top six hitters in the order had 15 of the 16 hits, led by Victor Arias who had five hits. The four home runs came from Arjun Nimmala, Aaron Parker, Jorge Burgos and Dub Gleed. Burgos' home run was a grand slam. He had three hits. Hedbert Perez, Parker and Eddie Micheletti had two hits each. Nimmala had just the one hit but walked twice and was hit by a pitch.

Arias got off to a very slow start this season, which could have been due to his IL visit. But he has rebounded to hit just under .300 in June and .333 now in July. Arias doesn't control the strike zone well, and he has been caught stealing more than he has been successful.

Danny Thompson Jr. has started to face some tough times in AA after a great start. He didn't get through four innings. He did strike out six in 3.2 innings but five hits, two walks and two errors led to four runs, two earned.

Landen Maroudis was back to not getting enough outs. The first two innings were fine but then a three run home run in the third inning opened the gates. Two more singles followed the home run and led to another run. Maroudis lasted 3.1 innings and had no strikeouts.

Vancouver scored two in the second inning with doubles from Jake Casey and Edward Duran. Alex Stone added a two run home run in the ninth.

Dunedin scored in the eleventh for a walk off win. It was a double by Brock Tibbets that delivered the winning run. The Jays had escaped bases loaded situations in the tenth and eleventh with just one run in. Earlier Giaconino Lasaracina hit a two run home run. Adam Hackenberg had three hits. Blaine Bullard, Jean Joseph and Raimundo De Los Santos had two hits each.

Troy Guthrie went six innings, three runs allowed, five K's,

The FCL Jays had 14 runs with 13 hits. In the two hit club were Angel Guzman, Kennew Blanco, Enmanuel Bonilla and Gavin Smith. Connor O'Halloran started and finally had a decent outing. A walk and a hit batter were his only blemishes in three innings.

Seeing Blanco and Bonilla listed there made me think of big international signings by the Jays. Bonilla got $4.1M from the Jays in 2023. He hit .186 in the complex league in 2024 and 2025. He was hitting .289 in Dunedin before he got injured but he needs to show more before he gets back on a top 30 prospect list. Kennew Blanco was due to get $1.7M from the Jays but age discrepancies changed all that and he settled for $600,000. He is hitting .216 in the FCL. Christopher Polanco got $2.3M in 2025. He is in his second year in the DSL. He is hitting .261 this year. He is walking a lot but has shown little power. Franklin Rojas got $1M in 2024. He is hitting well in the FCL. The biggest recipients of the Blue Jays international money have not done well as a group.
