The Jays hosted the Royals ten days ago and lost two of three. They need to win at least two of three in KC to keep their playoff position. After KC they head out west to Sacramento before returning to face the Orioles.

The Jays do not have their best starting pitching lineup in this series. When KC came into Toronto recently they were riding a nine game winning streak. They stayed hot in TO but now they have cooled off somewhat, going 6-4 in their last ten games.
