Buffalo and New Hampshire have had a rough go of it recently. Buffalo were 1-8 in their last nine games entering Sunday while New Hampshire were 1-7 in their last eight. So when Buffalo were down 7-1 in the seventh inning of their game and New Hampshire were down 6-1 in the ninth, it looked like the losing would continue. But Buffalo had a seven run seventh inning and NH a six run ninth and both won.

Vancouver and Dunedin finished their regular seasons with losses. Vancouver's season will continue on Tuesday with a playoff game but Dunedin are finished. Vancouver will play a best of five series against Eugene. Will any Dunedin players get to play for Vancouver or will the C's stick with their roster?

Worcester 7 Buffalo 8

New Hampshire 7 Binghamton 6

Vancouver 2 Tri-City 6

Dunedin 3 Tampa 4

NOTES

Worcester had a 7-1 lead heading to the bottom of the seventh. Jay Harry had homered in the first inning for Buffalo's only run to that point. In the seventh Ismael Munguia singled and Lenyn Sosa homered, 7-3. CJ Stubbs walked, Rhylan Thomas singled as did Harry, bases loaded. Nick Goodwin singled to drive in two more, 7-5. After Davis Schneider walked Munguia came up again and doubled to clear the bases, 8-7. Munguia ended with a three hit game.

Grant Rogers gave up seven runs and was lucky not to take the loss.

Austin Cates started for NH and did well except for one bad inning. Through five innings Binghamton had four hits and two walks. Two hits and the two walks came in the same inning leading to two earned runs. Matt Olson followed and gave up four runs. Gage Stanifer went one inning, 25 pitches, one walk and four K's.

NH had only Alexis Hernandez's first AA home run through eight innings and they trailed 6-1. In the ninth Dub Gleed and Carter Cunningham doubled. Adrian Pinto, Tucker Toman and Edward Duran singled, Cutter Coffey walked and Aaron Parker doubled to clear the bases and give NH a 7-6 lead. Gleed was 3-4 with a walk. Kelena Sauer came on to get the save. In case you didn't know Sauer is Hawaiian and his second name is "Lanakilahaahaaokekoa.

Connor O'Halloran went four shutout innings for Vancouver but the bullpen gave up six runs.

Ryan Sprock scored both C's runs. He singled and scored in the seventh and homered in the eighth. Jojo Parker and Austin Smith had two hits each.

Dunedin were outhit 6-5 and outscored 4-3. The Jays runs came from two home runs, a solo shot by Owen Carapellotti and a two run bomb by rehabbing Josh Rivera.

Edrwin Veras started and gave up one run in three innings. Josbel Garcia gave up two runs and took the loss.

I think this season may have answered the question from back in the spring with some of the beat writers about whether Rogers could be a dark horse rotation candidate.

Since the first of June, Chad Dallas in Buffalo has an ERA of 2.68 and of the 12 runs he's allowed in that time, six of them came in one appearance. Take that one out and his ERA is 1.45 in 37.1 IP during which he struck out 37 and walked 14.

Legit candidate to break camp next spring depending on other offseason moves.

Mitch Bannon at The Athletic has some notes on the minor leagues. Here is one about Aaron Parker:

Primarily a catcher and designated hitter, Parker played two games in left field in recent days and might get some work at first base before the season is over. He might not have the defensive profile to be an everyday catcher, but he could work as a bat-first backup who can play in other positions when he’s not behind the plate. Another reason the Jays might be exploring other positions for Parker is because of his concussion history, a battle many catchers deal with. Moving Parker out from behind the plate could help him stay on the active roster.

Parker is listed at 5’7”. He isn’t that tall. He isn’t going to play 1B is the majors. He looks less athletic (from a defensive perspective) than Keys. This is the root of the problem for Parker.

Truth is nobody in AA is really screaming promotion at the moment since Keys and Harry were moved up.

Bohrofen probably would have been promoted but he's been long injured again. Goodwin probably deserved the promotion even though it came through injury, but his lines are interrsting only if he's actually a good defensive middle infielder.

Gleed and Parker have solid lines but not really exciting without prime defensive value. If Parker can hack it at C then his line is definitely interesting.

Hernandez might actually be interesting because it seems he can actually play CF but right now his line is carried by an unsustainable babip.

All those guys definitely deserve to be moved up next year though, and none would be undeserving of a taste of AAA to end the year.

The two big disappointments this year in AA are Pinto and Arias, though both were hit hard by injuries too.

Cook is awfully raw to be going to the AFL

If Bloss is able to participate by then that's tentative good news for next year.

Gil Batista? Dude has been...not good. I'd have thought maybe Hechavarria since he lost a big part of the season, or maybe O'Halloran who just go back.

IF Harry (23): 197pa, 5.1b%, 15.2k%, .317bip, .291avg, .190iso, 115wrc+

Elite stuff frm Keys. Very solid stuff from Harry.

OF Clase (24): 217pa, 12.9b%, 24.9k%, .281bip, .223avg, .136iso, 82wrc+

Just a really good year for Goodwin at the plate - if his glove is legit in the middle infield he's worth watching.

Pinango's never had great numbers despite his EVs and that continued this year.

Old for a good prospect

OF Schreck (25): 229pa, 17.0b%, 19.2k%, .263bip, .230avg, .175iso, 114wrc+

IF Rivera (25): 356pa, 8.7b%, 32.6k%, .298bip, .214avg, .158iso, 72wrc+

I'm guessing Schreck comes back from rehab tommorrow and has a chance to finish off what was looking like another solid year before getting struck down.

Still waiting for a pop from Kasevich.

OF Thomas (26): 203pa, 7.9b%, 10.3k%, .284bip, .265avg, .055iso, 69wrc+

Schneider too good for AAA but just can't keep it going in MLB. Still like him tho.

Munguia probably deserved a look this year tbh.

Hernandez/Gleed/Parker all hitting well enough to be interesting. Not overwhelming tho.

IF Parker (19): 97pa, 17.5b%, 18.6k%, .410bip, .316avg, .101iso, 140wrc+

Just an excellent year for Parker. Maybe not quite Elite Prospect level but very very close. This A+ line here has too much babip but we know he has more power than this to compensate. I'd like to see him taste AA this year tbh.

OF Joseph (21): 81pa, 8.6b%, 14.6k%, .153bip, .186avg, .229iso, 62wrc+

Write off season for Shaw even though he looked near elite at the plate. Shame.

Sprock has had a monster year at two levels. Good enough to play even if he can't stick at C - but pretty awesome if he can.

Solid debut for Mitchell out of the draft.

Not as good as I hoped from Casey. Especially since he has so many HBP's to boost his line. Hopefully his defense is plus in CF. The performances of no names like Calabrese and Smith around him really put his line in perspective imo.
