Apologies to the #10 guy on the list, cut to make room for the "Other" option, Kenny Lofton -- who believe it or not, probably actually deserves to be on this list. So do several others of course.

Discuss.

Anyone who has some free time should take 10 minutes and pop in a hundred online votes for Roy in the ASG Final Vote. I don't care what his ERA is, he should be at the all star game every year (The same could probably be said of Roy Oswalt who also might have to get in this way). Anyways, I doubt there's enough Canadian support to get him in ahead of a guy like Bonderman but I gotta try.

Doc could probably use some 'Doc time'

In the AL it's likely going to be a two-man show between Bonderman and Okajima. Okajima will get support from Red Sox nation (they've won 3 Final Ballot competititons already) and Bonderman will get Detroit faithful and the name recognition from the World Series. I'm voting for Halladay or Neshek myself.

In the NL my vote goes to Chris Young, with all due respect to Oswalt and Webb. A low 2 ERA is impressive, even in San Diego. He's been dominant all year. How he and Snell were left off the team, I have no idea.

As I write this, the three leaders in our poll are Ordonez, Guerrero and Ichiro ... and that's the actual starting OF for the AL this year. Who'dathunkit?

I realize this may sound curmudgeonly and/or nuts, but I'm more than a little annoyed that Doc's been thrown into the Final Man vote. It seems to me that a guy like Doc is someone you either take to the All-Star Game or you don't. Putting him in a vote that essentially acts as a popularity poll for the teams the players play for puts him in a position where he's going to lose an election to a player who over his career (note emphasis, please) hasn't accomplished as much as him.

I don't know. It's not as though being an All-Star, or being publicly considered for the team, is some sort of unprecedented honour for Doc. I don't see the point of putting him in a vote that he's almost certain to lose.

That said, Vote Doc!
