I don't see the Jays being, um, quite that successful and it would burn me
like a thousand suns to vote for the Mets, so I went "other." Don't
know who. But that's my stance, and I'm-a-stickin' to it!
If this DID happen, which seems unlikely for the Jays point, it would be pretty much in favour of the Jays and their three headed rotation monster. Plus, the Jays' righthanded lineup would mash Johan.

With all due respect to Doc -- and I would be fervently rooting for the jays in a series against the Mets -- you have to admit that Santana-Martinez-Maine is every bit as good as anything the Jays could toss out there, and probably better!

I'd give the nod to Santana over Halladay, but the Jays mash lefties. Burnett and Martinez are a wash (he's not the same Martinez), and McGowan and Maine are a wash. The Mets top three might be a little bit better, but in game four I'd take Marcum over either Perez or Hernandez. If the Jays made the playoffs and Burnett and McGowan were healthy, they'd be one tough team to beat.
Santana however is 2-4 lifetime vs. the Jays in 7 starts, with a 4.84 ERA... I remember watching him get lit up by the Jays last year

Not likely (I agree with the poll here, the Jays if it happens, and it is not likely to happen), but wouldn't a matchup between Delgado and Halladay be an awesome way to end the season? Strangely, I've rarely even considered that the Jays and Delgado could clash in the WS. Let's see....

No question you bring in BJ. Lefties slug .250 off him and hit .170 over his career and in 2006 both those numbers were .120. That is ridiculously low to not bring him in.
Add that to the fact Carlos is noticably lower vs lefties.

After Grady Little and Pedro a few years ago, I think it will be a while before any manager would do anything other than bring in Ryan in this situation.

He has had 2 years where he has pitched like an Ace. Granted, there has been inconsistency plaguing his career, but if he puts up another year with an ERA in the mid 3s, you can probably refer to him as an upper tier pitcher/borderline all star. He has Ace type stuff when he is on. Oh. And he is 26 too. I was really hoping the Jays would pursue him when he was on the market. There was never any doubting the talent he has.
