I voted for the run away leader (better than Glaus), but I thought I should point out that in my head at least, "better than Glaus" and "30 HRs, All-Star" are virtually the same thing, at least to me. Glaus hit 38 hr and was an all-star one year, and 20hr last year in 115 games (almost 30hr pace). It would be a pretty fine line to walk between Glaus and all-star..only Rodriguez and Lowell were much better even last year, and both of them are due for a down year anyway (so says my inner-optimistic Jays fan).

Rolen provides a major upgrade on Glaus if he can just duplicate his hitting numbers due to defense, of course, which usually isn't recognized by all-star voters.

It would have been nice to have an OPS level since I don't think he will hit 30+ HR but I do think he will be a scary bat (around .900 OPS) and I do think he wins a GG.

I voted for the obligatory naive homer option, but then, the .295, 25 HR version of Rolen *is* an MVP candidate, and I've talked myself into believing that he can hit that well again.

Interesting to see how optimistic we are, though.  The guy's coming off two horrible seasons in three years and his shoulder is held together by duct tape, but right now all of 0.7% of us suspect he's going to disappoint.  Nice to see that the AL East hasn't made us bitter yet.

I - for one - haven't seen any current evidence that his shoulder is anything less than perfectly healthy.
