Lansing was the sole winner on the farm last night as Sean Reid-Foley exited after three innings of work. Conner Greene is Dunedin was hit around and Dalton Pompey was a late scratch due to injury in Buffalo.

ROCHESTER 4 Buffalo 0

Logan Darnell pitched a complete game four-hit shutout for the Twins affiliate. Darnell, oddly, struck no batter out and walked four. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a complete game shutout without a strikeout. For the Bisons Chris Leroux was solid over six innings. He allowed two runs, one earned.

Dalton Pompey did not play in this game. He was scratched due to a reported bruised heel.

TAMPA 5 Dunedin 4

Conner Greene got hit around over five and two-thirds. His final line reads 10 hits, five runs, four earned, three walks, one strikeout, and two homeruns. Michael Bourn was hitless. Bo Schultz made his 2016 debut. He pitched a shutout inning in relief. Richard Urena had a hit and stole a base.

LANSING 6 Beloit 1

As Mike Green alluded to in a previous post, Sean Reid-Foley pitched just three innings in this game. There was no mention as to why in the official write-up to this game. Reid-Foley exited with five strikeouts and an earned run charged. He was relieved by an excellent Conor Fisk, who pitched five scoreless innings. Andrew Guillotte was one base three times and scored twice as the leadoff hitter. Guillotte along with five other runners stole seven bases on the evening. Four out of the six Lansing runs came on two-out hits.

Three Stars

3. Chris Leroux

2. Andrew Guillotte

1. Conor Fisk

hard not to think pompey's injury is related to his previous one, even though it's his heel not his toes this time. I start to worry about a bigger issue like plantar fasciitis or something.

The only reason I can think of for taking Reid-Foley out after 3 is that it was a balmy 43 F in Lansing so maybe it was a weather thing? Hope thats it anyway.

They didn't play in Lansing yesterday, so I can't comment on why Reid-Foley was removed after three innings. I can tell you that I have noticed over the last few years that pitchers in Lansing are typically removed after ~50 pitches or so during the month of April, so it could be a pitch count thing.

Thanks, LF and Ceebee.  43F in April, 50 pitches, young pitcher.  I can see it.  It's important to bear in mind the development path when you look at expectations from a young starter higher up in the system.
