One of the most under-represented Blue Jays in photo of the day so far has been Orlando Hudson, but not because I haven't been trying: he just moves so damned fast. I "just can't win for losing", as Rod Black would say.

Here he is, warming up prior to a game:

Who would play Orlando Hudson in the film version of The Gregg Zaun Story?

Mos Def?

Now that is an interesting suggestion! The first name that came to mind for me was Chris Tucker because he can do the motormouth thing, but Tucker's voice doesn't have that low hint of menace in it -- it's just funny, to me. Orlando Hudson gives me the impression of "I'm joking now, but you'll know when I'm not joking", you know what I mean?

Mrs. Hank thinks that his is the best of the "This is my Sports Centre" ads for TSN.

Those "This is my Sports Centre" ads are generally horrible, but especially the Paul Tracy one... I don't think he manages to put together a single sentence that makes sense. I don't recall Hudson doing one of these... are you thinking of the "This is Orlando Hudson, and these are your Blue Jays!"? His is the best of those. Hinske's sounds like a question "These are your Blue Jays?"... maybe he just not sure if he's one of them. I've got my doubts too.

Hey, no questions here Johnny. I KNOW he's not a Jay. And hey, wasn't there a horribly written article on SI about how Hinske is more of a "REAL Yankee" than A-Rod? Hey, if Yankee fans want Hinske at third over A-Rod, I'll take A-Rod and RUN!

Marlon Wayans possibly as Orlando Hudson? If anyone's ever seen Requiem for a Dream, Marlon has a few interesting lines where you have ABSOLUTLY NO CLUE what he is saying. Plus, Wayans can play the comedy role very well but he can also get serious when he wants. Thus alluding to what NFH was saying about O-Dog before.

My vote is for Wayans.

Should add, that I could see Don Cheadle as another strong candidate to play O-Dog. Still sticking with Wayans though.

Nope, Jonny, he does a "This is my Sports Centre" where he calls himself the middle man and says don't cut him out.

I agree, they're usually awful, but Orlando's is the best that I've seen so far. He doesn't look like he's trying to be hardcore at least.

I'd give Marlon Wayans a tryout, that's for sure. He was a revelation in Requiem For A Dream.

Given his interviews and his "this is my sportscenter" I think the best person to play Orlando Hudson in a film would be.... Orlando Hudson. I think he'd do a fine job.

Dave Chappelle?

Clearly, the role would go to Owen or Luke Wilson or possibly to Colin Farrell, because at least one of them is in EVERY MOVIE NOW MADE.

With Will Ferrell as Roy Halladay and Jack Black as John Gibbons.

Well if that's your criteria Mick, there has to be a role somewhere in this film for Jude Law as well.

Who would play Billy Koch anyway?
James W - Thursday, August 04 2005 @ 07:27 PM EDT (#124702) #
Don't forget Vince Vaughn.

Vince Vaughn would actually be able to pull off Billy Koch, I think.
