Bah, Humbug! Another loss as the bats can't do anything against Kazmir, Borowski and Baez.

At least Kazmir is on my fantasy team.

Oi, this season isn't quite winding down how we hoped, is it?

The wheels are off on the offence. Starting pitching has been outstanding, truly a shame there is no run support for these excellent efforts. Bush, Towers & Downs are pitching exceptionally well. Anemic offensively, the Jays lead the AL in being shutout!
Rios seemed poised for a hot power streak after the Angels series & has really slumped badly. Hill is really struggling with low & away pitches.
Lets hope the fine starting performances carry on till seasons end & enhance the trade possibilities for JP. Clearly, the need for some power bats is a glaring one.

Runners on second and third, nobody out-- and no runs? Ouch.

More great pitching by the Jays, though. You've gotta give credit to Dave Bush for his performance of late. His numbers since the all-star game are solid: 51 IP, 53 H, 9 BB, 31 K, 3.71 ERA.

A couple clutch strikeouts from Frasor on the last two batters, to help give us free pizza. That really got the crowd going there, and was definitely the highlight of the night.

Groove, people around here aren't to high on the whole free pizza giveaway. I've read countless times someone complain about the Jays fans chearing for free pizza, but staying quiet it key situations.

You just had the feeling the game was over today after they couldn't score with 2nd and 3rd and nobody out in the 1st. Those were 3 pretty weak outs (Wells, Hillenbrand, Hill) but at the same time, Kazmir pitched a hell of a game.

The most telling stat during the entire homestand - just 1 home run, by Frank Menechino. I guess it was a bad sign when they lost their slugger on a hit by pitch today.

Bush and Towers just have to be beside themselves. What more could they have done? Maybe they should be allowed to bat for themselves. They can't do any worse the way things are going.

They need to bounce back on this road trip to have any shot of .500 especially with Boston and the Yankees awaiting them when they return home. They've made some nice gains overall this season but I hate to see it all be undone by a piss poor September.

I think the rotation is shaping up to be interesting. Downs, Towers, and Bush have been money of late. Chacin not so much but he seems to hang in there fairly often.

So Lilly comes back which should relieve McGowan for now. So Halladay comes back next year and if a free agent is brought in as well, who else is relieved? Chacin? Bush? Downs? Towers?

Can one of these guys be traded for a major league bat?

I think Lilly is the guy J.P. should want to get rid of. Ted is inconsistent and has a stubborn streak in that he is reluctant to listen to his coaches. However, because of those things he might be tougher to trade than Chacin but I still say get rid of him. He is a lefty and they are always in demand. Package him up, get 'im outta here.
