NFH...another superb photo!...Perusing it brings to mind a similarity in criticism...those who in the main have been negative in their views on how well the Blue Jays are or aren't doing and those who would look at your photos and say "yeh it's a nice picture but how come the background isn't in focus?"...the critiques are, I believe,  somewhat lacking in knowledge of how photography works or baseball plays... IMHO...FWIW

as a side note regarding a statement a couple weeks back I believe from Pistol referring to "big/soft? hearted Aaron" and how you deal with problematic posters... I hope that you read that as a compliment (although perhaps meant otherwise) or that you didn't take it to "heart" in that there is perhaps too much insensitivity within the day to day and one should not view one's sensitivity as a negative...creativity is not a mathematical equation...

The look around a pitcher's mouth in mid-delivery reminds me of an artist putting a touch on a painting.  With McGowan, it's the tongue out slightly, while with Halladay, it's a pursing of the lips.

The indicators of extreme focus for a hitter are quite different.  You see it in the eyes and hands.

I hadn't noticed it before this year, but Bengie often gives a very clear indication when he's at bat whether he has a lot of focus or none at all. As you say, it can be seen in the eyes (mostly, in Bengie's case) and hands.

It's been a fun game I've enjoyed whenever I see Bengie bat:   How Fired Up is Bengie Now?

That could make a magnificent game -- three photographs of Bengie Molina in the same pose -- bat ready, awaiting the pitch.  Which one was snapped right before a home run?

Don't suppose you were at tonight's game to take the shots necessary for the first installment of HFUIB here at da Box?

Nope.  It'll be a rare ocassion that I'm at two games in the same series -- for the Angels, I hit Friday.
