We've all heard the expression "It ain't over until Milton Bradley breaks a bat over his knee".

Well, it's over:

Sweet, I have a wallpaper for my desktop.

Bradley on Frank Thomas, after the A's were swept : "That man over there," said Bradley, "that's just greatness. I grew up watching him play. Now I'm watching him accept defeat with humility. He's handling his struggles like a man. He taught me, a lot of us, how to be major-league players. You can't replace that kind of leadership."

I never thought I'd see a writer refer to Milton as being "of the finest moral fiber", but there you go: http://sfgate.com/cgi-bin/blogs/sfgate/logout?blogid=21&entry_id=9887 .

I might have been imagining this, but I think Milton was standing on the field and applauding for the Tigers as they celebrated. Milton did pretty much everything he could to prevent the A's losing. And, apparently, he has moral fibre. I guess I can't call him psycho anymore.

Bradley was indeed giving the Tigers their props.

Pointing, like DiNiro at Billy Crystal: 'you...you...you...

This has nothing to do with this picture (which is incredible, BTW).

Isn't that Carlos Delgado something?  Most underrated player of our era.

He sure is. We've been watching the Carlos Delgado we could have had. I don't mean to say that because somebody goofed up in the negotiations or anything like that, but the Carlos we've been watching is a  Carlos with a fire in his belly.

For all the people who moaned about how Delgado doesn't have the passion, or how he never was intense, I think someone is deserving of an apology.

The poor guy never got anywhere near the playoffs. It's a shame too because that's where the publicity would come from and the rest of the world could see how awesome he is.

We could use a DH in 2009...
