If Lind is coming up, who is going down?

Zip continued his excellent pitching.  6 innings, 2 walks, 6 strikeouts and a 9-3 GO/AO has been par for the course for him in Lansing.  He's ready for Dunedin now.

I can't help but think that Cito is saying something like "Seven relief pitchers? What do you do with seven relief pitchers?"

I think we're a bit redundant between Eckstein, MacDonald and Scutaro.  The Dodgers have been looking for a shortstop.  I hope Inglett stays.

While this could very well mean the end of either a reliever or a utility guy in Toronto, in Syracuse, there are a number of possibilities. While I haven't heard any news on Robinzon Diaz's injury, maybe he's about to come back. This would give Doug Davis the flexibility to put Thigpen at first and not behind the plate, where his defense is almost inept compared to both Kratz and Diaz. This would move Cannon to either the bench or to DH, but that hardly seems much of a loss to Syracuse, not that Thigpen is hitting any better, mind you, but one of their swings is considerably more compact, and looks like it actually has a chance to start hitting soon. However, if Cannon moves to DH, maybe this means Adams sits down for a while. He's been hitting really poorly lately. Lind's departure would also clear up the logjam in the outfield, giving David Smith, who looked good in his first few games here, a chance to play. Of course, if Lind is up and someone on Toronto is out, then someone obviously has to come up from New Hampshire. If its an outfielder, I would think that Patterson is next in line, but youneverknow.

FWIW, the Syracuse paper's game story also has Lind being promoted (my apologies for lack of HTML formatting).

Chacin's on the DL again at Dunedin.  I don't recall a move to replace him.  They show 24 cctive on their roster - does that mean there's a spot open?

I believe the FCats win marked the first time this season that consecutive starters won their respective game.

Lind is taking Marcum's spot.

If Davis Romero can pitch seven innings in AAA, allowing one run while scattering seven hits, could he possibly be a candidate to replace Marcum? Coming back from torn labrum surgery just over a year ago, Davis appears to have beaten the odds to this point. and kept the intangibles which helped him get a win over the Yankees in 2006. Is he a  potential Pedro-lite?

John Parrish was scheduled to pitch tonight for Syracuse but was skipped for David Purcey.

Mench to AAA, League up.

I'd like to see Mench as a long term member of the Jays since his lefty-killing bat should be much more useful than Wilkerson (especially in light of the Lind call-up), but Mench just was not hitting. I'm really looking forward to seeing Brandon League.

Rotoworld seems to think League will be going back down once a starter (Parrish, most likely) is needed for Marcum's spot, but Camp being released or Carlson going down seems more likely to me. I doubt they really want to jerk League around.
