In four games the affiliates combined to allow 7 runs.  Unlike their Major League counterparts, they scored a bunch as well to go a perfect 4-for-4.

Richmond 2    Syracuse 10

Apparently the Chiefs don't need Adam Lind.  With their offensive star up with the big club, Syracuse went bananas on Richmond pitching putting up ten runs on 14 hits.  Buck Coats hit his fourth homer of the year, Wayne Lydon drove in three and David Smith had the only three hit day for the Chiefs.

Bill Murphy was the benefactor of the offensive explosion, though he certainly didn't need much of it.  Murphy went seven innings, allowing one earned run on four hits.  He struck out four and walked two.

Portland 1    New Hampshire 4  (Suspended- Bottom 4th)

Maybe Manchester got some of the hail that nailed the GTA on Sunday.  In any event, they'll finish this one later on.

Dunedin 4    Brevard County 1

Adam Calderone was the hero in this one.  The 24 year-old Rightfielder went 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBI as the D-Jays made a winner out of the fairly effective Kyle Ginley.  Ginley went 5.1 innings and allowed just one unearned run.  However, he did surrender nine hits and hit a man, while striking out three.  Connor Falkenbach picked up his 9th save by striking out two in the ninth.

Brad Emaus drove in the other two runs for Dunedin with a third-inning double.

Fort Wayne 0    Lansing 1

Lansing scored the game's only run in the bottom of the ninth.  After Kevin Ahrens struck out, Manny Rodriguez walked, and the newly reinstated Jonathan Jaspe singled him to second.  Moises Sierra then pinch-ran for Rodriguez and scored the winning run on a C.J. Ebarb single.

Eric Eiland had two hits for Lansing as did Jaspe who returned from his 50-game suspension.

On the mound, Randy Boone started and went five shutout innings.  Michael Barbara followed with 2.1 frames of his own before giving way to Tiny Tim Collins.  Collins finished the shutout with 1.2 innings in which he struck out three.  Collins now sports a 0.28 ERA and a 45:15 K:BB ratio in 31.2 innings.

Auburn 10    State College 4

The good times for the affiliates continued into the short-season squads as the Doubledays parlayed 16 hits into ten runs.  Every starter had a hit while Bartolo Nicolas and Leance Soto each drove in three.  David Cooper went 2-for-6 with his fourth RBI of the season.

Starter Matthew Wright was shaky in his three innings allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits and a walk, while striking out one.  Wright was relieved by eventual winner Ryan Page who went two frames.  Kyle Walter followed up with three innings of shutout ball in which he fanned four.

David Cooper is passing the Auburn quiz with flying colours.  He has doubled and homered tonight.  It's his first big fly as a pro.

Arencibia is also playing well at a higher level.  2 for 4 with a double so far tonight, to go along with his .304 avg.
